Abstract

The HST-HLA Hierarchical Progressive Survey (HiPS) has been built by Daniel Durand from CADC and distributed by CDS. It sets together all HST observations done in F319M filter between the beginning of the mission to the 4th of October 2014.The Hubble Space Telescope (HST) is a cooperative program of the European Space Agency (ESA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to operate a space-based observatory for the benefit of the international astronomical community. The Hubble Legacy Archive (HLA) is designed to optimize science from the Hubble Space Telescope by providing online, enhanced Hubble products and advanced browsing capabilities. The HLA is a joint project of the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI), the Space Telescope European Coordinating Facility (ST-ECF), and the Canadian Astronomy Data Centre (CADC). Currently we have enhanced image products for ACS, WFPC2, WFC3, and NICMOS, extracted spectra from NICMOS and ACS grism observations. The enhanced data products were generated from the standard HST pipeline products. The ACS, WFPC2, and WFC3, and NICMOS images have been combined using MultiDrizzle, are aligned north up , and, except for WFC3, have been astrometrically corrected when possible (for approximately 80% of the cases). All HLA-produced images are in units of electrons/second, which for WFPC2 and NICMOS differs from calibration pipeline products; photometric zeropoints must be adjusted to reflect the units used. Original acknowledgement for data: All publications based on HST data should carry the following footnote: "Based on observations made with the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, obtained from the data archive at the Space Telescope Institute. STScI is operated by the association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, Inc. under the NASA contract NAS 5-26555. This research used the facilities of the Canadian Astronomy Data Centre operated by the National Research Council of Canada with the support of the Canadian Space Agency. "
