A comparison of the results from the two techniques reveals large (~0.20m) systematic differences which we attribute to the difficulty of faint photometry. The photographic calibration depended on images produced by a Racine wedge, while the CCD calibration was accomplished in a manner analogous to photoelectric photometry. The stellar photometry provides a C-M diagram to V=21.5 which includes an evolved main sequence and a well-populated giant branch. A variety of methods, including comparisons of the observations to two sets of isochrones, allows us to estimate the cluster age as 0.9+/-0.2x10^9^ years. However we are only able to estimate the metallicity ([Fe/H]) crudely as -0.7+/-0.5. The C-M diagrams of the field in three regions near NGC 1777 indicate the presence of stars in the age range 1x10^9^ to &gt;=3x10^9^ years, although we are unable to discern whether a mixture of two or more distinct populations or a continuous distribution of field-star ages is responsible for this spread.</description><source format="bibcode">1985PASP...97..753M</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/PASP/97/753</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/PASP/97/753</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/PASP/97/753</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/PASP/97/753</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/PASP/97/753</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/PASP/97/753</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/PASP/97/753</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><coverage><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc"/><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/PASP/97/753/table6</name><description>CCD photometry</description><column><name>xpos</name><description>X position (1)</description><unit>pix</unit><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType">float</dataType></column><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
