Mira variables are promising bright candidates to study the nuclear stellar disc, and through their period-age relation dissect its star formation history. We report on a sample of 1782 Mira variable candidates across the central 3*3 deg^2^ of the Galaxy using the multi-epoch infrared VISTA Variables in Via Lactea (VVV) survey. We describe the algorithms employed to select candidate variable stars and then model their light curves using periodogram and Gaussian process methods. By combining with WISE, 2MASS, and other archival photometry, we model the multiband light curves to refine the periods and inspect the amplitude variation between different photometric bands. The infrared brightness of the Mira variables means many are too bright and missed by VVV. However, our sample follows a well-defined selection function as expected from artificial star tests. The multiband photometry is modelled using stellar models with circumstellar dust that characterize the mass-loss rates. We demonstrate how ~&gt;90 per cent of our sample is consistent with O-rich chemistry. Comparison to period-luminosity relations demonstrates that the bulk of the short period stars are situated at the Galactic Centre distance. Many of the longer period variables are very dusty, falling significantly under the O-rich Magellanic Cloud and solar neighbourhood period-luminosity relations and exhibit high mass-loss rates of ~2.5*10^-5^M_{sun}_yr^-1^. The period distribution appears consistent with the nuclear stellar disc forming ~&gt; 8 Gyr ago, although it is not possible to disentangle the relative contributions of the nuclear stellar disc and the contaminating bulge.</description><source format="bibcode">2022MNRAS.517..257S</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/MNRAS/517/257</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/509/2566">J/MNRAS/509/2566 : VIVACE, VIrac VAriable Classification Ensemble</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/483/5150">J/MNRAS/483/5150 : Variables in NGC 3109 dwarf irregular galaxy (Menzies+,2019)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/483/3022">J/MNRAS/483/3022 : Age gradients throughout the Galaxy with LPVs (Grady+, 2019)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/482/5567">J/MNRAS/482/5567 : Stellar variability in Galactic Centre</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/455/2216">J/MNRAS/455/2216 : Outer bulge O-rich Mira's JHKL photometry (Catchpole+, 2016)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/452/910">J/MNRAS/452/910 : IC 1613 asymptotic giant branch variables (Menzies+, 2015)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/414/3492">J/MNRAS/414/3492 : JHKs photometry of Sculptor dSph galaxy (Menzies+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/399/1709">J/MNRAS/399/1709 : Near-infrared survey of Miras (Matsunaga+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/386/313">J/MNRAS/386/313 : IR observations of Mira variables (Whitelock+, 2008)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/321/77">J/MNRAS/321/77 : Large-amplitude variables near the Galactic Centre</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/317/460">J/MNRAS/317/460 : Kinematics of Mira stars (Feast+, 2000)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/919/99">J/ApJ/919/99 : WISE &amp; Spitzer obs. of OGLE Miras in the LMC (Iwanek+, 2021)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/901/109">J/ApJ/901/109 : Ages &amp; [Fe/H] of the MW bulge using APOGEE</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/889/5">J/ApJ/889/5 : HST obs. of Mira variables in the SNIa host NGC1559</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/884/20">J/ApJ/884/20 : OGLE-III Mira variables in the Magellanic Clouds</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/877/49">J/ApJ/877/49 : DUSTiNGS.
