We construct deep mid-infrared colour-magnitude diagrams for the resolved stellar populations within 3.5 arcmin of M32's centre, and identify those stars that exhibit infrared excess. Our data are dominated by a population of luminous, dust-producing stars on the asymptotic giant branch (AGB) and extend to approximately 3 mag below the AGB tip. We detect for the first time a sizeable population of `extreme' AGB stars, highly enshrouded by circumstellar dust and likely completely obscured at optical wavelengths. The total dust-injection rate from the extreme AGB candidates is measured to be 7.5x10^-7^M_{sun}_/yr, corresponding to a gas mass-loss rate of 1.5x10^-4^M_{sun}_/yr. These extreme stars may be indicative of an extended star formation epoch between 0.2 and 5Gyr ago.</description><source format="bibcode">2015MNRAS.446.1584J</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/MNRAS/446/1584</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/104/1349">J/AJ/104/1349 : Infrared-luminous giants in M32 (Freedman, 1992)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/504/113">J/ApJ/504/113 : F175W and F275W photometry of M31 and M32 (Brown+, 1998)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/532/308">J/ApJ/532/308 : Hot Horizontal Branch Stars in the Core of M32 (Brown+ 2000)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/708/817">J/ApJ/708/817 : RR Lyrae variables in M32 and M31 (Fiorentino+, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/725/670">J/ApJ/725/670 : Kinematics in the M32 nucleus (Seth, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/425/1459">J/MNRAS/425/1459 : RR Lyrae in M32 (Sarajedini+, 2012)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/539/A138">J/A+A/539/A138 : RR Lyr variable stars in M32 (Fiorentino+, 2012)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/446/1584</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/446/1584</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/446/1584</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/446/1584</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/446/1584</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/446/1584</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/MNRAS/446/1584/table1 (Catalogue of point sources for M32)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/446/1584/table1?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/446/1584/table1?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/446/1584/table1?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>10.7373</ra><dec>40.8375</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/2622-2623</spatial><spectral>2.483060040379131e-20 5.517906024225661e-20</spectral><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/MNRAS/446/1584?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Infrared</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/MNRAS/446/1584/table1</name><description>Catalogue of point sources for M32</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
