Our sample of 150 objects covers a wide range in mass, from giant ellipticals down to the bright end of the dwarf-galaxy regime. Galaxies with ongoing star formation have been removed using strict H{alpha} emission-line criteria. We focus on the colours FUV-i, NUV-i, FUV-NUV, u*-g and g-i. We find that all of these colours are correlated with both luminosity and velocity dispersion at the &gt;5{sigma} level, with FUV-i and FUV-NUV becoming bluer with increasing 'mass' while the other colours become redder. We perform a purely empirical analysis to assess what fraction of the variation in each colour can be accounted for by variations in the average stellar populations, as traced by the optical spectra.</description><source format="bibcode">2012MNRAS.421.2982S</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/MNRAS/421/2982</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/392/1265">J/MNRAS/392/1265 : Coma cluster faint red galaxies spectroscopy (Smith+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/411/2558">J/MNRAS/411/2558 : Coma cluster galaxies absorption-line indices (Price+, 2011)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/421/2982</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/421/2982</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/421/2982</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/421/2982</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/421/2982</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/421/2982</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/MNRAS/421/2982/galaxies (Galaxy properties and 10" diameter aperture magnitudes used in the analysis of Section 3 (tables 1 and 2 of the paper))</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/421/2982/galaxies?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/421/2982/galaxies?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/421/2982/galaxies?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>193.523</ra><dec>27.0686111</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>5/2600 6/10377-10380 10382-10383 10404 28127 28149</spatial><spectral>2.381800341673347e-19 1.4134638842407062e-18</spectral><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/MNRAS/421/2982?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>UV</waveband><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/MNRAS/421/2982/galaxies</name><description>Galaxy properties and 10" diameter aperture magnitudes used in the analysis of Section 3 (tables 1 and 2 of the paper)</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
