We present very deep photometric observations of the central region of NGC 6611 obtained with the Hubble Space Telescope and the following filters: ACS/WFC F775W and F850LP and NIC2 F110W and F160W, loosely equivalent to ground-based IZJH filters. This survey reaches down to I~26mag. We construct the initial mass function (IMF) from ~1.5M_{sun}_ well into the brown dwarf regime (down to ~0.02M_{sun}_). We have detected 30-35 brown dwarf candidates in this sample. The low-mass IMF is combined with a higher-mass IMF constructed from the ground-based catalogue from Oliveira et al. We compare the final IMF with those of well-studied star-forming regions: we find that the IMF of NGC 6611 more closely resembles that of the low-mass star-forming region in Taurus than that of the more massive Orion Nebula Cluster. We conclude that there seems to be no severe environmental effect in the IMF due to the proximity of the massive stars in NGC 6611.</description><source format="bibcode">2009MNRAS.392.1034O</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/MNRAS/392/1034</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/106/1906">J/AJ/106/1906 : NGC 6611: A Cluster Caught in the Act (Hillenbrand+ 1993)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+AS/121/223">J/A+AS/121/223 : Multiphotometry of NGC 6611 (de Winter+ 1997)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+AS/134/525">J/A+AS/134/525 : NGC 6611 compiled catalog (Belikov+ 1999)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+AS/144/195">J/A+AS/144/195 : UBVRI polarimetric observations in NGC 6611 (Orsatti+, 2000)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/395/823">J/A+A/395/823 : CCD {Delta}a-photometry of 5 open clusters (Paunzen+, 2002)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/437/467">J/A+A/437/467 : VLT-FLAMES survey of massive stars (Evans+, 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/457/265">J/A+A/457/265 : VLT-FLAMES Survey of Massive Stars (Dufton+, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/132/1783">J/AJ/132/1783 : UBVRI polarimetry of 25 stars in NGC 6611 (Orsatti+, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/462/245">J/A+A/462/245 : BVI photometry in NGC 6611 (Guarcello+, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/496/453">J/A+A/496/453 : Photometry of candidate members of NGC6611 (Guarcello+, 2009)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/392/1034</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/392/1034</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/392/1034</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/392/1034</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/392/1034</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/392/1034</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/MNRAS/392/1034/table1 (NGC 6611 cluster candidates selected from the HST photometric catalog)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/392/1034/table1?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/392/1034/table1?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/392/1034/table1?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>274.6920417</ra><dec>-13.8070083</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/MNRAS/392/1034/table2 (*NGC 6611 cluster candidates selected from the photometric catalogue of Oliveira et al.
