The observations span a time range of 8541 d after explosion. The late time bolometric luminosity and the H{alpha} luminosity in the nebular phase indicate that 0.06+/-0.02M_{sun}_ of ^56^Ni was synthesized during the explosion. The plateau luminosity, its duration and the expansion velocity of the supernova at the middle of the plateau indicate an explosion energy of E_exp_=1.20^+0.38^_-0.30_x10^51^erg. The late time light curve and the evolution of the [OI] and H{alpha} emission-line profiles indicate the possibility of an early dust formation in the supernova ejecta. The luminosity of [OI] 6300, 6364{AA} doublet, before the dust formation phase, is found to be comparable to that of SN 1987A at similar epochs, implying an oxygen mass in the range 1.52M_{sun}_, and a main-sequence mass of 20M_{sun}_ for the progenitor.</description><source format="bibcode">2006MNRAS.372.1315S</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/MNRAS/372/1315</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/II/256">II/256 : Sternberg Supernova Catalogue, 2004 version (Tsvetkov+, 2004)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/317/423">J/A+A/317/423 : Revised photometry of SNIa (Patat, 1997)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/428/555">J/A+A/428/555 : UBVRIJHKs photometry of 2000cx (Sollerman+, 2004)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/112/2408">J/AJ/112/2408 : Light Curves of 29 SNe (Hamuy+ 1996)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/131/527">J/AJ/131/527 : UBVRI light curves of 44 type Ia supernovae (Jha+, 2006)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/372/1315</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/372/1315</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/372/1315</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/372/1315</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/372/1315</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/372/1315</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><coverage><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc"/><waveband>Optical</waveband><waveband>Infrared</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/MNRAS/372/1315/table2</name><description>Photometric observations of SN 2004et</description><column><name>e_Umag</name><description>? rms uncertainty on Umag</description><unit>mag</unit><ucd>stat.error;phot.mag;em.opt.U</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType">float</dataType><flag>nullable</flag></column><column><name>Bmag</name><description>?
