We have utilized the second catalog of 272 molecular clouds obtained by NANTEN (4m radio telescope of Nagoya University at Las Campanas Observatory, Chile) to compare the cloud distribution with signatures of massive star formation including stellar clusters, and optical and radio HII regions. We find that the molecular clouds are classified into three types according to the activities of massive star formation: Type I shows no signature of massive star formation; Type II is associated with relatively small HII region(s); and Type III with both HII region(s) and young stellar cluster(s). The radio continuum sources were used to confirm that Type I giant molecular clouds (GMCs) do not host optically hidden HII regions. These signatures of massive star formation show a good spatial correlation with the molecular clouds in the sense that they are located within ~100pc of the molecular clouds.</description><source format="bibcode">2009ApJS..184....1K</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJS/184/1</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/VII/232">VII/232 : Nebulae in the Magellanic Clouds (Davies+ 1976)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/PASJ/53/971">J/PASJ/53/971 : CO catalog of LMC molecular clouds (Mizuno+, 2001)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/178/56">J/ApJS/178/56 : CO observations of LMC Giant Molecular clouds (Fukui+, 2008)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJS/184/1</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJS/184/1</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJS/184/1</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJS/184/1</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJS/184/1</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJS/184/1</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/ApJS/184/1/table2 (Associated HII regions, OB associations, and young clusters)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJS/184/1/table2?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJS/184/1/table2?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJS/184/1/table2?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>71.8766667</ra><dec>-69.1691667</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>5/8263 8269 8272 8274 8275 8276 8278 8280 6/33047 33051 33092 33094 33095 33110 33116 33124 33126 33127 33128 33129</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/ApJS/184/1?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Radio</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/ApJS/184/1/table2</name><description>Associated HII regions, OB associations, and young clusters</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
