We search for signals with ~constant frequency in the range 40-180Hz. Thanks to the efficiency of our search pipeline we can use a long coherence time and achieve unprecedented sensitivity, significantly improving on existing results. This is the first search that has been able to probe gravitational wave amplitudes that could balance the accretion torque at the neutron star radius. Our search excludes emission at this level between 67.5 and 131.5Hz, for an inclination angle 44{deg}{+/-}6{deg} derived from radio observations, and assuming that the spin axis is perpendicular to the orbital plane. If the torque arm is ~26km-a conservative estimate of the Alfven radius-our results are more constraining than the indirect limit across the band. This allows us to exclude certain mass-radius combinations and to place upper limits on the strength of the star's magnetic field with a different probe than ever used before. We also correct a mistake that appears in the literature in the equation that gives the gravitational wave amplitude at the torque balance and we re-interpret the associated latest LIGO/Virgo results in light of this.</description><source format="bibcode">2021ApJ...906L..14Z</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/906/L14</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/839/12">J/ApJ/839/12 : Gravitational waves search from PSR with LIGO (Abbott+, 2017)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/879/10">J/ApJ/879/10 : 2015-2017 LIGO obs. analysis for 221 pulsars (Abbott+, 2019)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/902/L46">J/ApJ/902/L46 : Gravitational-wave freq. limits PSRJ1653-0158 (Nieder+, 2020)</relatedResource><relatedResource>http://www.gw-openscience.org/O2/ : Gravitational Wave Open Science Center</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/906/L14</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/906/L14</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/906/L14</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/906/L14</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/906/L14</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/906/L14</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><coverage><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc"/><waveband>Millimeter</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/ApJ/906/L14/fig1</name><description>95% confidence upper limits on the intrinsic gravitational wave amplitude in half-Hz bands</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
