SN 2017cbv went on to become a bright Type Ia supernova, with a Vmax of 11.51+/-0.05mag. We present early time optical and infrared photometry of SN 2017cbv covering the rise and fall of over 68 days. We find that SN 2017cbv has a broad light curve {Delta}m_15_(B)=0.88+/-0.07, a B-band maximum at 2457840.97+/-0.43, a negligible host galaxy reddening where E(B-V)_host_~0, and a distance modulus of 30.49+/-0.32 to the SN, corresponding to a distance of 12.58_-1.71_^+1.98^Mpc. We also present the results of two different numerical models we used for analysis in this paper: SALT2, an empirical model for Type Ia supernova optical light curves that accounts for variability components; and SNooPy, the CSP-II light-curve model that covers both optical and near-infrared wavelengths and is used for distance estimates.</description><source format="bibcode">2018ApJ...863...90W</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/863/90</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/II/183">II/183 : UBVRI Photometric Standards (Landolt 1992)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/415/863">J/A+A/415/863 : Mount Stromlo Abell Cluster SN Search (Germany+, 2004)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/128/16">J/AJ/128/16 : HIPASS Bright Galaxy Catalog (Koribalski+, 2004)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/659/122">J/ApJ/659/122 : Improved distances to type Ia supernovae (Jha+, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/689/377">J/ApJ/689/377 : PAIRITEL SNIa as NIR standard candles (Wood-Vasey+, 2008)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/696/870">J/ApJ/696/870 : Catalina Real-time Transient Survey (CRTS) (Drake+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/142/156">J/AJ/142/156 : The CSP (DR2): photometry of SNe Ia (Stritzinger+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/469/3688">J/MNRAS/469/3688 : CSS Periodic Variable Star Catalogue (Drake+, 2017)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/154/211">J/AJ/154/211 : CSP (DR3): photometry of low-z SNe Ia (Krisciunas+, 2017)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/863/90</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/863/90</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/863/90</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/863/90</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/863/90</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/863/90</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><coverage><spectral>2.367228618189496e-19 4.920466254354166e-19</spectral><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc"/><waveband>Optical</waveband><waveband>Infrared</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/ApJ/863/90/table5</name><description>Optical and near-IR photometric cadence of SN2017cbv</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
