Here we present measurements of the vertical structure of this galaxy at several additional wavelengths, ranging from the far-ultraviolet to the far-infrared. We find that undular patterns with amplitude &lt;~5"(&lt;~250pc) are visible in a variety of Population I tracers in IC 2233, including the young to intermediate-age stars, the HII regions, and the dust. However, the vertical excursions become less pronounced in the older stellar populations traced by the mid-infrared light. This suggests that the process leading to the vertical displacements may be linked with the regulation of star formation in the galaxy. We have also identified a relationship between the locations of the density corrugations and small-amplitude (&lt;~5km/s) velocity undulations in the HI rotation curve. We are able to exclude several possible mechanisms for the origin of the observed corrugations, including tidal interaction from a companion, Parker instabilities, or a galactic bore. Global gravitational instabilities appear to be the most likely explanation, although local perturbations may also be important.</description><source format="bibcode">2008ApJ...688..237M</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/688/237</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/173/185">J/ApJS/173/185 : GALEX ultraviolet atlas of nearby galaxies (Gil de Paz+, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/442/137">J/A+A/442/137 : HI observations of WHISP disk galaxies (Noordermeer+, 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/408/873">J/A+A/408/873 : Gas and stellar kinematics in spirals (Corsini+, 2003)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/688/237</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/688/237</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/688/237</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/688/237</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/688/237</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/688/237</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><coverage><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc"/><waveband>UV</waveband><waveband>Infrared</waveband><waveband>Radio</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/ApJ/688/237/table1</name><description>Data sets used for vertical structure analysis of IC 2233</description><column><name>Tel</name><description>Telescope</description><ucd>meta.id;instr.tel</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType" arraysize="12*">char</dataType></column><column><name>f_Desc</name><description>[ab] corrections applied (1)</description><ucd>meta.code</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType" arraysize="1*">char</dataType></column><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
