The orbital period (40.11 days) and probable semimajor axis (0.35AU) are large enough that the system is not interacting at present. However, the mass function suggests that the secondary has a low mass (M_2_&gt;0.30M_{sun}_), and we argue that the companion may be a white dwarf. Such a star would be the remnant of a former mass donor that was the source of the large spin angular momentum of Regulus itself.</description><source format="bibcode">2008ApJ...682L.117G</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/682/L117</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/III/252">III/252 : Pulkovo radial velocities for 35493 HIP stars (Gontcharov, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/III/190">III/190 : WEB Catalog of Radial Velocities (Duflot+ 1995)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/389/869">J/MNRAS/389/869 : Multiplicity among bright stellar systems (Eggleton+, 2008)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/133/889">J/AJ/133/889 : Faint companions of Hipparcos stars (Lepine+, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/663/960">J/ApJ/663/960 : Radial velocities of Leo I stars (Sohn+, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/126/2048">J/AJ/126/2048 : NStars project: the Northern Sample.
