We built a deep color magnitude diagram spanning ~10 magnitudes and enabling the very first identification of the main sequence turnoff of the cluster. Due to the extreme reddening conditions of the region where the stellar system is located, a differential reddening correction was necessary. The resulting reddening map shows color excess variations up to {delta}E(B-V)~2.5mag in the direction of the target. From isochrone-fitting of the differential reddening corrected color-magnitude diagram, we obtained a new estimate of the mean color excess, E(B-V)=6.33^+0.05^_-0.04_, and a distance modulus (m-M)_0_=14.00^+0.26^_-0.11_, corresponding to a distance of d=6.3^+0.8^_-0.3_kpc from the Sun, and a Galactocentric distance of 2.6^+0.6^_-0.7_kpc. This distance value, within the associated uncertainties, suggests that the cluster may be located closer to the Galactic Center compared to previous estimates, possibly supporting its classification as a bulge globular cluster. Furthermore, we obtained a photometric metallicity estimate of [Fe/H]=-0.30^+0.10^_-0.08_ and the first absolute age determination for Glimpse-C02, resulting in t=11.9^+0.7^_-0.6_Gyr, as typically measured for Galactic globular clusters at this metallicity. We also obtained a new estimate of the center of gravity of the cluster and determined its projected density profile from resolved star counts, finding a high King concentration parameter (c=1.97_-0.67_^+0.51^) and a core radius r_c_=8.72^+0.40^_-0.35_arcsec. Finally, from the surface brightness profile of the system, we derived an integrated H-band magnitude M_H_=-7.9, corresponding to a mass of M=3.57^+0.22^_-0.19_x10^4^M_{sun}_. Thus, our work classifies Glimpse-C02 as an old and metal-rich globular cluster that is in an advanced stage of its dynamical evolution.</description><source format="bibcode">2026A&amp;A...709A.186L</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+A/709/A186</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/489/583">J/A+A/489/583 : JHKs photometry of GLIMPSE-C02 (Kurtev+, 2008)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/709/A186</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/709/A186</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/709/A186</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/709/A186</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/709/A186</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/709/A186</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/A+A/709/A186/catalog (Catalog of the globular cluster Glimpse-C02)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/709/A186/catalog?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/709/A186/catalog?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/709/A186/catalog?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>274.638081</ra><dec>-16.990767</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/29113</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/A+A/709/A186?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Infrared</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/A+A/709/A186/catalog</name><description>Catalog of the globular cluster Glimpse-C02</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
