In this paper we provide a characterisation of Gaia photometry for the case of white dwarfs to better prepare for the analysis of the scientific output of the mission including relationships among colours involving Gaia magnitudes (white light G, blue GBP, red GRP and GRVS passbands) and colours from other commonly used photometric systems (Johnson-Cousins, SDSS and 2MASS). We also present numbers of white dwarfs predicted by the Gaia Universe Model Snapshot and compare them with an alternative simulation calibrated with the local white dwarfs sample. In these online tables we provide the values used to fit the relationships in the paper, especially useful for those cases where the deviation from the established relationships is large. The most recent Gaia transmission curves and three different compositions for white dwarfs were considered here (pure hydrogen, pure helium and mixed composition with H/He=0.1).</description><source format="bibcode">2014A&amp;A...565A..11C</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+A/565/A11</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/190/77">J/ApJS/190/77 : Detailed analysis of cool WDs in the SDSS (Kilic+, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/730/128">J/ApJ/730/128 : Spectroscopy of DA WD from the SDSS-DR4 (Tremblay+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/523/A48">J/A+A/523/A48 : Gaia photometry (Jordi+, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/552/A64">J/A+A/552/A64 : Gaia-RVS standards (Soubiran+, 2013)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/426/1767">J/MNRAS/426/1767 : Gaia Preliminary results (Pancino+, 2012)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/565/A11</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/565/A11</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/565/A11</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/565/A11</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/565/A11</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/565/A11</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><coverage><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc"/><waveband>Optical</waveband><waveband>Infrared</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/A+A/565/A11/WDphot</name><description>Gaia, Johnson, 2MASS and SDSS absolute magnitudes derived for white dwarf SEDs in the case of pure H (Tremblay et al. 2011, J/ApJ/730/128), pure He (Bergeron et al. 2011ApJ...737...28B) and mixed He/H=0.1 (Kilic et al. 2010, J/ApJS/190/77)</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
