Such trends constitute important constraints for the extent to which diffusion modifies the internal structure and surface abundances of solar-type, metal-poor stars. We perform an independent check of the reality and size of abundance variations within this metal-poor globular cluster. Observational data covering a large stellar sample, located between the cluster turn-off point and the base of the red giant branch, are homogeneously analysed. The spectroscopic data were obtained with the medium-high resolution spectrograph FLAMES/GIRAFFE on VLT-UT2 (R~27000). We derive independent effective-temperature scales from profile fitting of Balmer lines and by applying colour-Teff calibrations to Stroemgren uvby and broad-band BVI photometry. An automated spectral analysis code is used together with a grid of MARCS model atmospheres to derive stellar surface abundances of Mg, Ca, Ti, and Fe.</description><source format="bibcode">2008A&amp;A...490..777L</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+A/490/777</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/287/769">J/A+A/287/769 : UV photometry of NGC 6397 (Burgarella+ 1994)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/99/637">J/ApJS/99/637 : Equivalent widths for 54 red giants (Norris+ 1995)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/PASP/108/682">J/PASP/108/682 : Low-Mass Stars in Outer Field in NGC 6397 (Mould+, 1996)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+AS/122/1">J/A+AS/122/1 : BV photometry of variables in NGC 6397 (Kaluzny, 1997)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/425/509">J/A+A/425/509 : VI photometry of NGC 6397 (Andreuzzi+, 2004)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/503/545">J/A+A/503/545 : Equivalent widths of Li, Na, Fe, Ca in NGC 6397 (Lind+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/505/L13">J/A+A/505/L13 : Lithium in globular NGC 6397 (Gonzalez Hernandez+, 2009)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/490/777</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/490/777</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/490/777</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/490/777</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/490/777</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/490/777</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/A+A/490/777/table4 (Stellar abundances derived for the sample stars)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/490/777/table4?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/490/777/table4?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/490/777/table4?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>265.0445</ra><dec>53.6281389</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/10067</spatial><spectral>3.352923723967259e-19 3.9105737390043815e-19</spectral><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/A+A/490/777?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/A+A/490/777/table4</name><description>Stellar abundances derived for the sample stars</description><column><name>n_Seq</name><description>[*] * for the targets of Korn et al.
