We looked for indicators of metal abundance peculiarities and stellar binarity in a sample of 40 confirmed gamma Dor stars. Absolute magnitudes from Hipparcos parallaxes and UV magnitudes, from the S2/S68 experiment on board the TD1 satellite, are retrieved from databases and compared with predicted values. A set of non variable normal stars is used to check the consistency of this analysis and also serve as reference stars. Twenty-nine stars of the gamma Dor star sample, which is 73% of it, are discovered having abnormal UV fluxes constantly showing UV flux excesses compared to those computed with the atmospheric parameters (Teff, logg, and metallicity) determined from calibration of the uvbyBeta indices. The reason for this UV excess of flux at 196.5nm and at 236.5nm, which was previously known only for HD 209295, cannot be ascribed to binarity alone. An extra source of UV flux or less UV absorption - yet unknown - must be present.</description><source format="bibcode">2007A&amp;A...472..241G</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+A/472/241</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/450/715">J/A+A/450/715 : Differential uvby photometry of HD 218427 (Rodriguez+, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/456/261">J/A+A/456/261 : Differential uvby photometry of HD 239276 (Rodriguez+, 2006)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/472/241</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/472/241</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/472/241</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/472/241</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/472/241</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/472/241</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/A+A/472/241/params (Reddening and atmospheric parameters for the {gamma} Dor stars and a sample of reference stars)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/472/241/params?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/472/241/params?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/472/241/params?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>31.5447056</ra><dec>-10.2762178</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/339 1888 5258 6073 6154 6257 6424 6539 6706 7560 7759 9293 9857 10907 11204 11349 11770 11917 12598 12695 13313 14144 14807 15019 15621 16289 17398 17404 17458 17486 17491 17608 19989 20125 20793 20835 21285 21803 22269 23405 23503 23514 23518 23523 23525-23526 23536-23537 24218 24793 24842 25685 25746 26783 27130 28025 28423 28838 29680 30318 30375 30475 31094 31763 31939 33584 33976 34217 34577 36832 38074 39149 40400 41397 45029 45032 45469 45983 47825 47928</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/A+A/472/241?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/A+A/472/241/params</name><description>Reddening and atmospheric parameters for the {gamma} Dor stars and a sample of reference stars</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
