(2006ApJ...644..890G) we focus here on 3.6m ESO telescope observations of a large new sample of 69 HII regions in 45 blue compact dwarf (BCD) galaxies. This data set spans a wide range in metallicity (Z_{sun}_/60&lt;Z&lt;Z_{sun}_/3) and, combined with the sample of 47 HII regions from Guseva et al. (2006ApJ...644..890G), yields the largest spectroscopic data set ever used to derive the electron temperature in the H^+^ zone. In the same way as in Guseva et al. (2006ApJ...644..890G) we have used a Monte Carlo technique to vary free parameters and to calculate a series of model spectral energy distributions (SEDs) for each HII region. The electron temperature in the H^+^ zones was derived from the best fitting synthetic and observed SEDs in the wavelength range ~3200-5100{AA}, which includes the Balmer jump. On the base of the present large spectroscopic sample we find that in hot (Te(H^+^)&gt;11000K) HII regions the temperature of the O^2+^ zone, determined from doubly ionised oxygen forbidden lines, does not differ statistically from the temperature of the H^+^ zone. Thus, we confirm and strengthen the finding by Guseva et al. (2006ApJ...644..890G). We emphasize that due to a number of modelling assumptions and the observational uncertainties for individual objects, only a large, homogeneous sample, as the one used here, can enable a conclusive study of the relation between Te(H^+^) and Te(OIII).</description><source format="bibcode">2007A&amp;A...464..885G</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+A/464/885</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/VII/20">VII/20 : Catalogue of HII Regions (Sharpless 1959)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/416/475">J/A+A/416/475 : Long slit spectroscopy of HII regions (Marquez+, 2004)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/416/515">J/A+A/416/515 : Long slit spectroscopy of HII regions (Marquez+, 2004)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+AS/131/319">J/A+AS/131/319 : HII regions catalogue (Petit+ 1998)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/464/885</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/464/885</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/464/885</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/464/885</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/464/885</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/464/885</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/A+A/464/885/HII (Observed parameters, electron temperatures, ionic and total element abundances in the 53 HII regions)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/464/885/HII?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/464/885/HII?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/464/885/HII?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>201.4525</ra><dec>-11.6105556</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/17075 17832 18002 18032 18081 18793 19172 19417 21970 24696 25045 25169 25594 25659 25737 25739 25851 25938 25959 26142 26178 26194 26362 26959 27199 27243 31316 36766 41987 43754 46786 46790 47701</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/A+A/464/885?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/A+A/464/885/HII</name><description>Observed parameters, electron temperatures, ionic and total element abundances in the 53 HII regions</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
