The optical identification of these sources is shown here to be predominantly blue stellar objects (BSO's) of which some are already catalogued as quasars. Excluding the two brightest Seyferts, a subset of 24 with apparent magnitudes between 8.04&lt;=B_T_^o,i^&lt;=12.90mag. show a minimum excess of &gt;46 bright X-ray sources. These excess X-ray sources are generally distributed between 10'&lt;r&lt;40' and 12 of the Seyferts show conspicuous pairs of X-ray sources across their active nuclei. Additional pairing and alignment of sources is seen for the remaining Seyferts. Among the paired X-ray sources, 53 have been identified as BSO's. Some double and multiple BSO's have been identified which are candidates for groups and associations of quasars. Some groups are well aligned and some centered on small blue galaxies. Four previously known BL Lac objects fall close enough to the Seyferts in this sample to confirm, at a significance level of 1-2x10^-9^, a previously reported association of BL Lac objects with bright, low redshift galaxies.</description><source format="bibcode">1997A&amp;A...319...33A</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+A/319/33</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/319/33</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/319/33</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/319/33</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/319/33</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/319/33</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/319/33</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/A+A/319/33/table3 (Position of optically identified X-ray Sources)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/319/33/table3?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/319/33/table3?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/319/33/table3?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>183.795417</ra><dec>7.534444</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/A+A/319/33?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>X-ray</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/A+A/319/33/table3</name><description>Position of optically identified X-ray Sources</description><column><name>Rem</name><description>Remarks</description><ucd>meta.note</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType" arraysize="17*">char</dataType></column><column><name>l_O-E</name><description>Limit flag on O-E</description><ucd>meta.code.error</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType" arraysize="1*">char</dataType></column><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
