By fitting template spectra of old galaxies (OGs) and young, dusty starbursts (DSs) to the multicolor data, we classified EROs into these two classes and estimated their redshifts. We found that 58% of the EROs in our sample belong to the OG class and that these OGs have a wide range of colors at any redshift. We derived rest-frame B-band luminosity functions of OGs in our sample at z=1-1.5 and 1.5-2.5, and found that the number density of galaxies obeying passive evolution drops at z&gt;~1.5 by a factor of three or more. The spatial correlation length of OGs is estimated to be r_0_&gt;~8h^-1^Mpc, which is comparable to, or larger than, those of present-day early-type galaxies of similar luminosities. We also discussed properties of DSs in our data.</description><source format="bibcode">2003PASJ...55.1079M</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/PASJ/55/1079</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/581/844">J/ApJ/581/844 : Radio and Infrared observations of EROs (Smail+, 2002)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/330/1">J/MNRAS/330/1 : HST observations of Extremely Red Objects (Smith+, 2002)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/346/1125">J/MNRAS/346/1125 : IK photometry of faint Extremely Red Objects (Gilbank+ 2003)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/432/69">J/A+A/432/69 : Extremely Red Objects XMM-Newton observations (Brusa+, 2005)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/PASJ/55/1079</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/PASJ/55/1079</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/PASJ/55/1079</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/PASJ/55/1079</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/PASJ/55/1079</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/PASJ/55/1079</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/PASJ/55/1079/table4 (ERO catalog)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/PASJ/55/1079/table4?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/PASJ/55/1079/table4?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/PASJ/55/1079/table4?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>34.7073328</ra><dec>-5.0111692</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/17688 17690</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/PASJ/55/1079?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband><waveband>Infrared</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/PASJ/55/1079/table4</name><description>ERO catalog</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
