The 850-{mu}m map is constructed using newly obtained observations by SCUBA-2 at the East Asian Observatory's James Clerk Maxwell Telescope, carried out using the observatory's large programme opportunities. The recent 850-{mu}m survey has extended the submillimetre data coverage by almost a factor of 4 compared to previous surveys, with a depth of {sigma}_rms_=1.0-2.3mJy/beam. The catalogue contains 549 sources selected above a significance level of 4{sigma}, where the false-detection rate is 10 per cent; a higher threshold of 4.5{sigma} is required in order to achieve a false-detection rate below 3 per cent, which results in 342 sources being selected. Despite the large spatial variation of the noise, the deboosted flux density of sources is comparable to results from the SCUBA-2 Cosmology Legacy Survey, which covered the central 0.6deg^2^ of our survey area with better sensitivity. We construct the source counts at 850{mu}m, finding results in agreement with other 850-{mu}m surveys in cosmological blank fields over S_850_=4-15mJy. We find a slight excess of bright galaxies (S_850_&gt;15mJy), which can be considered to be at z_phot_=2-4. The 850-{mu}m data add valuable long-wavelength information to mid-infrared-selected sources from the AKARI NEP-deep and NEP-wide surveys, which will be helpful in preparing for future near-infrared to millimetre wavelength observations in the NEP region. Our 850-{mu}m mosaic map and source catalogue will be made publicly available.</description><source format="bibcode">2020MNRAS.498.5065S</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/MNRAS/498/5065</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/498/5065</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/498/5065</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/498/5065</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/498/5065</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/498/5065</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/498/5065</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/MNRAS/498/5065/table2 (850-{mu}m source catalogue from the NEPSC2 survey covering approximately 2deg^2^)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/498/5065/table2?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/498/5065/table2?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/498/5065/table2?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>269.639167</ra><dec>66.632917</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/10239 11605 11607 15359 16042-16043</spatial><spectral>2.3390025583187276e-22 2.3390025583187276e-22</spectral><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/MNRAS/498/5065?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Millimeter</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/MNRAS/498/5065/table2</name><description>850-{mu}m source catalogue from the NEPSC2 survey covering approximately 2deg^2^</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
