We used public photometric data from the Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment and the Vista Variables in the Via Lactea survey. We carefully selected fundamental-mode stars without modulation and without association with any globular cluster located towards the Galactic bulge. Subsequently, we identified and separated the Oosterhoff groups I and II on the basis of their period-amplitude distribution and using a relation fitted to the Oosterhoff I locus. Both Oosterhoff groups were then compared to observations of two bulge globular clusters and with models of stellar pulsation and evolution. We found that some of the variables classified as Oo II belong to a third Oo group. The Oosterhoff II variables are more metal-poor on average, more massive, and cooler than their Oosterhoff I counterparts. The analysis of their spatial distribution shows a systematic difference between foreground, central, and background regions in the occurrence of the Oosterhoff II group. The difference between the Oo I and II groups is also seen in their distance distributions with respect to the Galactic bar, but neither group is associated with the bar.</description><source format="bibcode">2019MNRAS.484.4833P</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/MNRAS/484/4833</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AcA/64/177">J/AcA/64/177 : VI light curves of Galactic Bulge RR Lyrae (Soszynski+, 2014)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/484/4833</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/484/4833</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/484/4833</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/484/4833</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/484/4833</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/484/4833</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/MNRAS/484/4833/oobulge (Oosterhoff dichotomy in the Galactic bulge)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/484/4833/oobulge?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/484/4833/oobulge?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/484/4833/oobulge?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>258.75188</ra><dec>-29.83761</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>4/1794-1795 1798 1803 1805 5/7174-7175 7198 7200 7205 7209-7211 7216-7217 7226-7227 7230 7243 7301 7312-7313 7316 10591 6/28683 28686-28687 28744 28746-28747 28750-28751 28784 28786-28787 28796 28798-28799 28804-28806 28816-28817 28819 28828-28829 28833 28835 28872-28873 28876-28877 28898-28899 28902-28903 28924 28926 28966 29056 29058-29059 29064-29066 29184-29185 29188 29200-29201 29260-29261 29268 29270 29272-29273 42357 42359 42363 42452-42453 42495 42837</spatial><spectral>7.952274030004205e-20 1.0188844282367877e-19</spectral><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/MNRAS/484/4833?format=ascii</footprint></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/MNRAS/484/4833/oobulge</name><description>Oosterhoff dichotomy in the Galactic bulge</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
