Observational data from the Dawn spacecraft reveal the presence of at least two impact craters about 280km in diameter on the Ceres surface, that could have expelled a significant number of fragments. Yet, standard techniques for identifying dynamical asteroid families have not detected any Ceres family. In this work, we argue that linear secular resonances with Ceres deplete the population of objects near Ceres. Also, because of the high escape velocity from Ceres, family members are expected to be very dispersed, with a considerable fraction of km-sized fragments that should be able to reach the pristine region of the main belt, the area between the 5J:-2A and 7J:-3A mean-motion resonances, where the observed number of asteroids is low. Rather than looking for possible Ceres family members near Ceres, here we propose to search in the pristine region.</description><source format="bibcode">2016MNRAS.458.1117C</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/MNRAS/458/1117</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/B/astorb">B/astorb : Orbits of Minor Planets (Bowell+ 2014)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/458/1117</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/458/1117</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/458/1117</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/458/1117</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/458/1117</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/458/1117</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><coverage><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc"/></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/MNRAS/458/1117/table1</name><description>Photometric and albedo Ceres family candidates in the pristine region with D&lt;20km</description><column><name>Ecc</name><description>Eccentricity</description><ucd>src.orbital.eccentricity</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType">double</dataType></column><column><name>sini</name><description>Sine of inclination, sin(i)</description><ucd>src.orbital.inclination</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType">double</dataType></column><column><name>H</name><description>Absolute H magnitude</description><unit>mag</unit><ucd>phys.magAbs</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType">float</dataType></column><column><name>Diam</name><description>Estimated diameter (km)</description><unit>km</unit><ucd>phys.angSize</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType">float</dataType></column><column><name>Type</name><description>Photometric (SDSS) or albedo (WISE) C-type candidate</description><ucd>meta.code</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType" arraysize="4*">char</dataType></column><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
