From the JHK IMDF, the lifetime of the innermost dust disc (~0.3au; hereafter the K disc) is estimated to be ~3Myr, suggesting a stellar mass (M*) dependence of K-disc lifetime (=~1.5-7M_{sun}_). However, from the MIR IMDF, the lifetime of the inner disc (~5au; hereafter the MIR disc) is estimated to be ~6.5Myr, suggesting a very weak stellar mass dependence (M*). The much shorter K-disc lifetime compared to the MIR-disc lifetime for intermediate-mass (IM) stars suggests that IM stars with transition discs, which have only MIR excess emission but no K-band excess emission, are more common than classical Herbig Ae/Be stars, which exhibit both. We suggest that this prominent early disappearance of the K disc for IM stars is due to dust settling/growth in the protoplanetary disc, and it could be one of the major reasons for the paucity of close-in planets around IM stars.</description><source format="bibcode">2014MNRAS.442.2543Y</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/MNRAS/442/2543</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/442/2543</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/442/2543</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/442/2543</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/442/2543</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/442/2543</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/442/2543</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/MNRAS/442/2543/appen (List of intermediate-mass stars in target clusters)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/442/2543/appen?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/442/2543/appen?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/442/2543/appen?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>52.3324003</ra><dec>31.4158464</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>5/3869 5709 5712 5720 5722-5723 5726 11079 11090 6/342 483 501 509 511 844 851-852 856 862 881 965 991 1013 1029 1031 1036 1042 1050 1073-1074 1082 1111 1114-1115 1124 1154 1159 1168-1169 1194 1197-1199 1203-1204 1208 1210 1212 1536 1539-1540 1549 1560 1673-1674 1706 3073 15662-15663 15748-15749 21438-21439 21478 21480-21482 21488 21490 21497 21499-21500 22799 22801 22803-22805 22807-22808 22810 22814-22815 22819-22820 22829 22831-22832 22834 22841-22843 22845-22846 22853-22854 22857-22860 22862-22863 22865-22867 22870-22874 22876 22879 22885-22887 22896-22898 22901-22902 22908 22928-22930 22937 22941 22943 22977 22980-22982 22986-22988 22991 22993-22994 22997-23000 23004 23009-23010 23014 23022 23542 23549-23551 23562 23590 23594-23595 23637 23639 23717 23719 23728 24201 29320 36955-36957 37012 37128 39216 39907 42799 42808 42851 42858 42873 42896 42900 42908 42910-42911 42913 42923 42932 42939-42940 42943 42949 42955 42978 42980-42981 42983 42985 42987 42990-42992 43002 44289 44293 44297 44307-44308 44310-44313 44321 44324 44333 44341 44352-44354 44356-44357 44365 44368 44371 44376 44378 44384-44385 44389 44397 44400 44403 44409 44421 44436 44502</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/MNRAS/442/2543?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/MNRAS/442/2543/table1</name><description>Summary of target clusters</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
