The aim of the observations is to determine the kinetic temperatures in the dense clumps of the G333 giant molecular cloud associated with RCW 106 and to examine the effect that accurate measures of temperature have on the calculation of derived quantities such as mass. This project is part of a larger investigation to understand the time-scales and evolutionary sequence associated with high-mass star formation, particularly its earliest stages. Assuming that the initial chemical composition of a giant molecular cloud is uniform, any abundance variations within will be due to evolutionary state. We have identified 63 clumps using SEST Imaging Bolometer Array 1.2-mm dust continuum maps and have calculated gas temperatures for most (78 per cent) of these dense clumps. After using Spitzer Galactic Legacy Infrared Mid-Plane Survey Extraordinaire 8.0{mu}m emission to separate the sample into infrared (IR)-bright and IR-faint clumps, we use statistical tests to examine whether our classification shows different populations in terms of mass and temperature.</description><source format="bibcode">2014MNRAS.441..256L</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/MNRAS/441/256</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/II/293">II/293 : GLIMPSE Source Catalog (I + II + 3D) (IPAC 2008)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/VIII/96">VIII/96 : 6-GHz methanol multibeam maser catalog (Caswell+ 2010-12)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/359/1498">J/MNRAS/359/1498 : Class I and class II methanol masers (Ellingsen+, 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/other/PASA/26.454">J/other/PASA/26.454 : Precise positions of methanol masers (Caswell, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/416/1764">J/MNRAS/416/1764 : H2O Southern Galactic Plane Survey (HOPS) (Walsh+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/367/1609">J/MNRAS/367/1609 : RCW 106 Giant Molecular Cloud 13CO mapping (Bains+, 2006)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/441/256</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/441/256</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/441/256</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/441/256</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/441/256</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/441/256</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/MNRAS/441/256/clumps (Parameters of the 63 SIMBA 1.2-mm dust clumps identified with CLUMPFIND (table1) and derived physical parameters (table3))</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/441/256/clumps?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/441/256/clumps?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/441/256/clumps?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>245.535417</ra><dec>-50.098056</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/42169 42172-42173</spatial><spectral>1.6553710550405622e-22 1.6553710550405622e-22</spectral><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/MNRAS/441/256?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Radio</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/MNRAS/441/256/clumps</name><description>Parameters of the 63 SIMBA 1.2-mm dust clumps identified with CLUMPFIND (table1) and derived physical parameters (table3)</description><column><name>Spect</name><description>Spectral features (4)</description><ucd>meta.code</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType" arraysize="7*">char</dataType></column><column><name>DV2</name><description>?
