Spectral indices are an important tool for understanding the emission mechanism of the faint radio sources. We have observed the extended Chandra Deep Field South at 5.5GHz using a mosaic of 42 pointings with the Australia Telescope Compact Array. Our image reaches an almost uniform sensitivity of ~12Jy rms over 0.25deg^2^ with a restoring beam of 4.9"x2.0", making ATLAS 5.5GHz survey one of the deepest 6cm surveys to date. We present the 5.5GHz catalogue and source counts from this field. We take advantage of the large amount of ancillary data in this field to study the 1.4 to 5.5GHz spectral indices of the sub-mJy population.</description><source format="bibcode">2012MNRAS.426.2342H</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/MNRAS/426/2342</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/131/2373">J/AJ/131/2373 : Extended Chandra Deep Field-South survey (Virani+, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/161/21">J/ApJS/161/21 : Extended Chandra Deep Field-South survey (Lehmer+, 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/179/114">J/ApJS/179/114 : VLA 1.4GHz survey of E-CDF-S (Miller+, 2008)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/205/13">J/ApJS/205/13 : VLA 1.4GHz survey of ECDF-S (DR2) (Miller+, 2013)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/693/1713">J/ApJ/693/1713 : Spectroscopy of X-ray sources in ECDF-S (Treister+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/411/505">J/MNRAS/411/505 : Sub-mm observations in Extended Chandra DFS (Chapin+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/420/2190">J/MNRAS/420/2190 : ECDFS sources with radio counterparts (Vattakunnel+, 2012)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/426/2342</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/426/2342</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/426/2342</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/426/2342</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/426/2342</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/426/2342</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/MNRAS/426/2342/table1 (The ATLAS 5.5 GHz catalogue)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/426/2342/table1?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/426/2342/table1?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/426/2342/table1?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>53.453125</ra><dec>-28.0424444</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/35935 35957</spatial><spectral>3.644338263669406e-24 3.644338263669406e-24</spectral><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/MNRAS/426/2342?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband><waveband>Radio</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/MNRAS/426/2342/table1</name><description>The ATLAS 5.5 GHz catalogue</description><column><name>Seq</name><description>Sequential number</description><ucd>meta.record</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType">int</dataType></column><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
