There is a severe paucity of data available for ScII, highlighted by the fact that no collision strengths are readily available for this ion. We present electron-impact excitation collision strengths and Maxwellian averaged effective collision strengths for ScII. The collision strengths were calculated for all 3916 transitions amongst 89 jj levels (arising from the 3d4s, 3d^2^, 4s^2^, 3d4p, 4s4p, 3d5s, 3d4d, 3d5p, 4p^2^ and 3d4f configurations), resulting in a 944 coupled channel problem. The R-matrix package RMATRXII was utilized, along with the transformation code fine and the external region code pstgf, to calculate the collision strengths for a range of incident electron energies in the 0 to 8.3 Rydberg region. Maxwellian averaged effective collision strengths were then produced for 27 temperatures lying within the astrophysically significant range of 30 to 105K.</description><source format="bibcode">2012MNRAS.424.2461G</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/MNRAS/424/2461</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+AS/125/543">J/A+AS/125/543 : Effective collision strengths for Mg VI (Ramsbottom+ 1997)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/399/799">J/A+A/399/799 : Effective collision strengths for Fe XI (Aggarwal+, 2003)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/410/349">J/A+A/410/349 : Effective collision strengths in Fe XV (Aggarwal+, 2003)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/418/363">J/A+A/418/363 : Effective collision strengths for Cl II (Tayal+, 2004)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/418/1171">J/A+A/418/1171 : FeXVIII-FeXXIII effective collision strengths (Bautista+ 2004)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/429/1117">J/A+A/429/1117 : Fe XIII effective collision strengths (Aggarwal+, 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/430/725">J/A+A/430/725 : N II effective collision strengths (Hudson+, 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/432/731">J/A+A/432/731 : Effective collision strengths for C II (Wilson+, 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/436/1131">J/A+A/436/1131 : Effective collision strengths for Al III (Hudson+ 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/439/1215">J/A+A/439/1215 : Effective collision strengths for Fe X trans.
