(2004, Cat. J/MNRAS/353/601). The great majority of these stars are of OBA type, tracing the dynamics of the young stellar population. Dividing the sample into ad hoc `bar' and `wing' samples (north and south, respectively, of the line: delta=-77^{deg}50' + [4{alpha}]', where alpha is in minutes of time) we find that the velocities in the SMC bar show a gradient of 26.3+/-1.6km/s/deg at a position angle of 126+/-4deg. The derived gradient in the bar is robust to the adopted line of demarcation between the two samples. The largest redshifts are found in the SMC wing, in which the velocity distribution appears distinct from that in the bar, most likely a consequence of the interaction between the Magellanic Clouds that is predicted to have occurred 0.2Gyr ago. The mean velocity for all stars in the sample is +172.0+/-0.2km/s (redshifted by ~20km/s when compared to published results for older populations), with a velocity dispersion of 30km/s.</description><source format="bibcode">2008MNRAS.386..826E</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/MNRAS/386/826</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/353/601">J/MNRAS/353/601 : 2dF survey of the Small Magellanic Cloud (Evans+, 2004)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/386/826</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/386/826</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/MNRAS/386/826</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/386/826</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/386/826</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/MNRAS/386/826</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/MNRAS/386/826/rv (Stellar radial velocities from the SMC 2dF survey)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/386/826/rv?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/386/826/rv?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/MNRAS/386/826/rv?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>6.944625</ra><dec>-73.2791111</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>5/8323-8324 8326 8329 6/33287 33291 33300 33302 33313 33315 33328</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/MNRAS/386/826?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/MNRAS/386/826/rv</name><description>Stellar radial velocities from the SMC 2dF survey</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
