Four fast flares were observed with amplitudes ranging from 0.3 to 0.75mag. The source remained active during the whole monitoring campaign, showing microvariability in all days except for one. The overall variability amplitudes are {Delta}B~0.89, {Delta}V~0.80, {Delta}R~0.73, and {Delta}I~0.51mag. Typical timescales of microvariability range from 2 to 8hr. The overall V-R color index ranges from 0.37 to 0.59. Strong bluer-when-brighter chromatism was found on internight timescales. However, a different spectral behavior was found on intranight timescales. A possible time lag of ~11 minutes between B and I bands was found on one night. The shock-in-jet model and geometric effects can be applied to explain the source's intranight behavior.</description><source format="bibcode">2009ApJS..185..511P</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJS/185/511</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/327/61">J/A+A/327/61 : BV(RI)c photometry of S5 0716+714 (Ghisellini+ 1997)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/402/151">J/A+A/402/151 : S5 0716+714 UBVRI photometry (Raiteri+, 2003)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/129/1818">J/AJ/129/1818 : Photometry of S5 0716+714 (Wu+, 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/451/435">J/A+A/451/435 : BV(RI)c photometry of S5 0716+714 (Montagni+, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AZh/83/310">J/AZh/83/310 : BV(RI)c photometry of S5 0716+714 (Amirkhanyan+, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/133/1599">J/AJ/133/1599 : B'V'R' photometry of S5 0716+714 (Wu+, 2007)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJS/185/511</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJS/185/511</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJS/185/511</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJS/185/511</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJS/185/511</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJS/185/511</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><coverage><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc"/><waveband>Optical</waveband><waveband>Infrared</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/ApJS/185/511/table5</name><description>Results of microvariability of BL Lacertae S5 0716+714</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
