The observations were made using the IRAM 30m telescope with the 3x3 pixel Heterodyne Receiver Array (HERA). The array provides an effective means of discriminating the CO emission of planetary nebulae in the Galactic plane from contaminating emission of interstellar clouds along the line of sight. A total of 110 planetary nebulae were observed in the survey, and 40 were detected. The results increase the number of young planetary nebulae with known CO emission by approximately a factor of 2. The CO spectra yield radial velocities for the detected nebulae, about half of which have uncertain or no velocity measurements at optical wavelengths. The CO profiles range from parabolic to double-peaked, tracing the evolution of structure in the molecular gas. The line widths are significantly larger than on the asymptotic giant branch, and many of the lines show extended wings, which probably result from the effects on the envelopes of high-velocity jets.</description><source format="bibcode">2005ApJS..160..272H</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJS/160/272</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+AS/132/13">J/A+AS/132/13 : Planetary nebulae radial velocities (Durand+ 1998)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/V/84">V/84 : Strasbourg-ESO Catalogue of Galactic Planetary Nebulae</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJS/160/272</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJS/160/272</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJS/160/272</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJS/160/272</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJS/160/272</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJS/160/272</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/ApJS/160/272/table1 (CO Survey of young planetary nebulae)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJS/160/272/table1?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJS/160/272/table1?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJS/160/272/table1?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>250.9740875</ra><dec>-18.9533028</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/1223 1244 1920 1967 2883 2993 3681 3686 12852 12971 12984 12992 13055 13225 13796 14048 14258 14282 14338 14339 14344 14356 14363 14375 14390 14402 14428 14429 14450 14460 14462 14642 14655 14689 14709 14786 14796 15428 15508 15621 15721 23616 24368 28885 28886 28892 28898 28904 28907 28917 28922 28923 28963 28969 28975 29083 29096 29104 29108 29130 29150 29160 29168 29182 29201 29205 29208 29250 29253 29254 29350 29405 29451 29470 29472 29517 29520 29523 29539 29566 29834 29840 29866 30208 30209 30217 30283 30327 30331 30349 30357 30389 30403 30431 30522 30621 30637 30684 30686 30697 30699 31847 32001 32021 32068 32071</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/ApJS/160/272?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Radio</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/ApJS/160/272/table1</name><description>CO Survey of young planetary nebulae</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
