The combination of these forces shapes both circumnuclear star formation and the growth of the central, supermassive black hole. We present visible and near-infrared Hubble Space Telescope images and color maps of 123 nearby galaxies that show the distribution of the cold ISM, as traced by dust, with excellent spatial resolution. These observations reveal that nuclear dust spirals are found in the majority of active and inactive galaxies and they possess a wide range in coherence, symmetry, and pitch angle. We have used this large sample to develop a classification system for circumnuclear dust structures.</description><source format="bibcode">2003ApJS..146..353M</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJS/146/353</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/B/hst">B/hst : HST Archived Exposures Catalog (STScI, 1991-)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/VII/155">VII/155 : Third Reference Cat. of Bright Galaxies (RC3) (de Vaucouleurs+ 1991)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/VII/145">VII/145 : Nearby Galaxies Catalogue (NBG) (Tully 1988)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJS/146/353</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJS/146/353</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJS/146/353</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJS/146/353</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJS/146/353</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJS/146/353</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/ApJS/146/353/galaxies (Literature Data, Sample Assignments and Morphological Classifications)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJS/146/353/galaxies?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJS/146/353/galaxies?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJS/146/353/galaxies?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>248.807083</ra><dec>-58.08</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/1008 1701 2282 3446 3910 4439 4511 5202 5288 5564 5975 5976 6090 7132 7214 7424 7642 7704 7957 8106 8113 8173 8458 8492 8922 9882 10364 10366 10454 10475 10501 10515 10560 10650 10817 10912 10924 10977 11029 11416 11772 11886 12619 15592 15955 17038 17525 17595 17748 17754 17850 17905 18246 18398 18800 18897 19283 19296 19611 19619 19697 19954 20230 20725 21996 22654 22944 23171 24896 24949 25497 25599 25742 25790 25890 25907 25935 26071 26148 26303 26393 26758 27464 27512 27514 27608 27714 27738 27767 27861 27937 28123 28167 28495 28517 28535 28593 29795 31880 33920 36107 36261 36716 38703 38868 40221 42016 42027 42120 43226 43339 43925 45491 45545 45748 45883 46399 46477 46481 46811 47415</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/ApJS/146/353?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/ApJS/146/353/galaxies</name><description>Literature Data, Sample Assignments and Morphological Classifications</description><column><name>VFilt</name><description>V filter</description><ucd>instr.bandpass</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType" arraysize="5*">char</dataType></column><column><name>BT</name><description>Total B magnitude</description><unit>mag</unit><ucd>phot.mag;em.opt.B</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType">float</dataType></column><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
