We identify VLBA counterparts toward an unprecedented 123 sources. Of these, 41 do not have X-ray counterparts, of which 34 also do not display near-infrared counterparts. Since these cannot be explained by extragalactic background sources, this suggests a component of the ONC population of young stellar objects that are too deeply embedded for even X-rays to be detectable. We find pervasive variability and detect even most of the highest-S/N sources in only one out of four epochs. Neither a negative spectral index nor extreme variability in the VLA data is a good predictor of a VLBA detection.</description><source format="bibcode">2021ApJ...906...23F</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/906/23</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/405/498">J/ApJ/405/498 : Counts and spectral indices at 8.44GHz (Windhorst+, 1993)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/160/353">J/ApJS/160/353 : Membership of the Orion nebula population (Getman+, 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/160/319">J/ApJS/160/319 : COUP; observations and source lists (Getman+, 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/677/401">J/ApJ/677/401 : Xray properties of protostars in ONC (Prisinzano+, 2008)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/146/85">J/AJ/146/85 : Spectral types 1576 optical stars in ONC (Hillenbrand+, 2013)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/551/A97">J/A+A/551/A97 : Lockman Hole/XMM VLBI observations (Middelberg+, 2013)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/822/93">J/ApJ/822/93 : Population of compact radio sources in ONC (Forbrich+, 2016)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/587/A153">J/A+A/587/A153 : VISION I.
