The behavior is associated with a magnetic (B=5.0MG) spot on the stellar surface, making the 317.278s period a direct measurement of the stellar rotation rate. This object is therefore the fastest-rotating, apparently isolated (without a stellar companion) white dwarf yet discovered and the second found to exhibit chromospheric Balmer emission after GD 356, in which the emission has been attributed to a unipolar inductor mechanism driven by a possible rocky planet. We explore the properties and behavior of this object, and consider whether its evolution may hold implications for white dwarf mergers and their remnants.</description><source format="bibcode">2020ApJ...894...19R</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/894/19</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/II/328">II/328 : AllWISE Data Release (Cutri+ 2013)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/V/147">V/147 : The SDSS Photometric Catalogue, Release 12 (Alam+, 2015)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/II/335">II/335 : Revised catalog of GALEX UV sources (GUVcat_AIS GR6+7) (Bianchi+ 2017)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/IV/34">IV/34 : K2 Ecliptic Plane Input Catalog (EPIC) (Huber+, 2017)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/I/345">I/345 : Gaia DR2 (Gaia Collaboration, 2018)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/133/413">J/ApJS/133/413 : BVRIJHK photometry of cool white dwarfs (Bergeron+, 2001)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/132/1221">J/AJ/132/1221 : VJHK and SDSS photometry of DA white dwarfs (Holberg+, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/417/1210">J/MNRAS/417/1210 : DA-white dwarfs from SDSS and UKIDSS (Girven+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/730/128">J/ApJ/730/128 : Spectroscopy of DA WD from the SDSS-DR4 (Tremblay+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/201/19">J/ApJS/201/19 : Hawaii Infrared Parallax Program.
