This long-term variability can be recovered in photometry from the full-frame images (FFIs), a set of calibration data collected approximately monthly during the Kepler mission. Here we present f3, an open-source package to perform photometry on the Kepler FFIs in order to detect changes in the brightness of stars in the Kepler field of view over long time baselines. We apply this package to a sample of 4000 Sun-like stars with measured rotation periods. We find that ~10% of these targets have long-term variability in their observed flux. For the majority of targets, we find that the luminosity variations are either correlated or anticorrelated with the short-term variability due to starspots on the stellar surface. We find a transition between anticorrelated (starspot-dominated) variability and correlated (facula-dominated) variability between rotation periods of 15 and 25 days, suggesting the transition between the two modes is complete for stars at the age of the Sun. We also identify a sample of stars with apparently complete cycles, as well as a collection of short-period binaries with extreme photometric variation over the Kepler mission.</description><source format="bibcode">2017ApJ...851..116M</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/851/116</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/V/133">V/133 : Kepler Input Catalog (Kepler Mission Team, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/I/337">I/337 : Gaia DR1 (Gaia Collaboration, 2016)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/687/1264">J/ApJ/687/1264 : Age estimation for solar-type dwarfs (Mamajek+, 2008)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/138/312">J/AJ/138/312 : Activity of bright solar analogs (Hall+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/523/A48">J/A+A/523/A48 : Gaia photometry (Jordi+, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/142/112">J/AJ/142/112 : KIC photometric calibration (Brown+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/199/30">J/ApJS/199/30 : Effective temperatures for KIC stars (Pinsonneault+, 2012)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/763/L26">J/ApJ/763/L26 : SMARTS observations of eps Eridani (Metcalfe+, 2013)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/557/L10">J/A+A/557/L10 : Rotation periods of 12000 Kepler stars (Nielsen+, 2013)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/431/966">J/MNRAS/431/966 : Transiting planet WASP-50b (Tregloan-Reed+, 2013)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/211/2">J/ApJS/211/2 : Revised properties of Q1-16 Kepler targets (Huber+, 2014)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/211/24">J/ApJS/211/24 : Rotation periods of Kepler MS stars (McQuillan+, 2014)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/220/19">J/ApJS/220/19 : LAMOST obs. in the Kepler field.
