We discuss how to test and reconcile these templates. Physically, the fraction of the intrinsic AGN IR-processed luminosity compared with that from the central engine should be consistent with the dust-covering factor. In addition, besides reproducing the composite spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of quasars, a correct AGN IR template combined with an accurate library of star-forming galaxy templates should be able to reproduce the IR properties of the host galaxies, such as the luminosity-dependent SED shapes and aromatic feature strengths. We develop tests based on these expected behaviors and find that the shape of the AGN intrinsic far-IR emission drops off rapidly starting at ~20{mu}m and can be matched by an Elvis+ (1994, J/ApJS/95/1)-like template with a minor modification. Despite the variations in the near- to mid-IR bands, AGNs in quasars and Seyfert galaxies have remarkably similar intrinsic far-IR SEDs at {lambda}~20-100{mu}m, suggesting a similar emission character of the outermost region of the circumnuclear torus. The variations of the intrinsic AGN IR SEDs among the type-1 quasar population can be explained by the changing relative strengths of four major dust components with similar characteristic temperatures, and there is evidence for compact AGN-heated dusty structures at sub-kiloparsec scales in the far-IR.</description><source format="bibcode">2017ApJ...841...76L</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/841/76</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/95/1">J/ApJS/95/1 : Atlas of Quasar Energy Distributions (Elvis+ 1994)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/166/470">J/ApJS/166/470 : SDSS-Spitzer type I QSOs IR photometry (Richards+, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/653/127">J/ApJ/653/127 : 9.7um silicate features in AGNs (Shi+, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/666/806">J/ApJ/666/806 : SED of Spitzer quasars (QUEST) (Netzer+, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/663/81">J/ApJ/663/81 : SED of hard X-ray selected AGN in XMDS (Polletta+, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/656/770">J/ApJ/656/770 : Mid-IR spectrum of star-forming galaxies (Smith+, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/136/2373">J/AJ/136/2373 : Type 2 quasars from SDSS (Reyes+, 2008)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/705/14">J/ApJ/705/14 : Seyfert galaxies in the mid-IR (Deo+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/692/556">J/ApJ/692/556 : Star forming galaxy templates (Rieke+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/714/1256">J/ApJ/714/1256 : Far-IR star formation rate indicators (Calzetti+, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/414/500">J/MNRAS/414/500 : Spitzer/IRS ATLAS project source (Hernan-Caballero+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/759/139">J/ApJ/759/139 : Herschel+MIPS photom. of GOODS sources (Kirkpatrick+, 2012)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/768/13">J/ApJ/768/13 : FIR properties of SDSS type 1 quasars (Hanish+, 2013)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/206/1">J/ApJS/206/1 : Mid-IR properties of GOALS nearby LIRGs (Stierwalt+, 2013)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/439/1648">J/MNRAS/439/1648 : Subarcsecond mid-infrared atlas of local AGN (Asmus+, 2014)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/565/A128">J/A+A/565/A128 : Dust SED in HRS nearby galaxies (Ciesla+, 2014)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/788/159">J/ApJ/788/159 : 17 Seyfert 1 galaxies light curves (Koshida+, 2014)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/214/23">J/ApJS/214/23 : IR spectra and photometry of z&lt;0.5 quasars (Shi+, 2014)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/219/18">J/ApJS/219/18 : LIRAS: LoCuSS IR AGN survey (Xu+, 2015)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/824/70">J/ApJ/824/70 : UV-FIR SED results of SDSS QSOs &amp;
