Our IRTF/SpeX data are the first absolute L-band spectroscopic emission measurements of any exoplanet other than the hot Jupiter HD 189733b. Previous measurements of HD 189733b's L band indicate bright emission hypothesized to result from non-LTE CH_4_{nu}_3_ fluorescence. We do not detect a similar bright 3.3 {mu}m feature to ~3{sigma}, suggesting that fluorescence does not need to be invoked to explain HD 209458b's L-band measurements. The validity of our observation and reduction techniques, which decrease the flux variance by up to 2.8 orders of magnitude, is reinforced by 1{sigma} agreement with existent Hubble/NICMOS and Spitzer/IRAC1 observations that overlap the H, K, and L bands, suggesting that both IRTF/SpeX and Palomar/TripleSpec can measure an exoplanet's emission with high precision.</description><source format="bibcode">2014ApJ...796...48Z</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/796/48</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/II/313">II/313 : Palomar Transient Factory (PTF) photometric catalog 1.0 (Ofek+, 2012)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/796/48</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/796/48</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/796/48</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/796/48</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/796/48</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/796/48</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/ApJ/796/48/table4 (Potential exoplanet targets for measuring the primary transit with Palomar/TripleSpec)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/796/48/table4?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/796/48/table4?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/796/48/table4?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>300.1821394</ra><dec>22.7108514</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/790 876 1275 2308 2532 2551 2584 2596 2711 3344 3876 4651 4990 5009 5475 5730 6017 6181 6349 6381 6539 6638 7208 7240 8197 8237 8825 9355 9459 9482 9524 9811 10407 10654 10730 10953 12424 12853 12862 12983 13044 13143 13439 13569 13680 13702 13941 14591 14744 14751 14757 14772 14774 14777 14779 14780 14816 14824 14825 14826 14886 14920 14923 14933 14936 14939 14961 14973 15040 15112 15121 15129 15131 15134 15140 15143 15149 15159 15160 15162 15169 15218 15550 15950 16405 16947 17172 17226 18093 18569 20116 20339 21026 21989 22001 22034 22040 22065 22078 22120 22168 22169 22208 22505 22519 22816 24409 24428 24815 25132 25153 25194 25604 25721 25885 25950 26019 26062 26771 28400 28433 28548 30009 30240 30241 30293 30295 30436 30444 30450 30451 30456 30466 30485 31216 31541 31641 32564 32727 32749 33798 34708 35210 35993 36142 36165 36667 36794 37247 37329 37923 38452 39487 39611 39673 40862 42936 43625 43775 43847 43960 44648 45051 45922 46421 46429 46437 47476</spatial><spectral>7.952274030004205e-20 1.0188844282367877e-19</spectral><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/ApJ/796/48?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Infrared</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/ApJ/796/48/table4</name><description>Potential exoplanet targets for measuring the primary transit with Palomar/TripleSpec</description><column><name>SimbadName</name><description>Simbad column added by the CDS</description><ucd>meta.id</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType" arraysize="17*">char</dataType></column><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
