We observed 615 targets located well beyond the tidal radius of Terzan 5 and found that their radial velocity distribution is well described by a Gaussian function peaked at &lt;v_rad_&gt; = +21.0+/-4.6 km/s with dispersion {sigma}_v_= 113.0+/-2.7 km/s. This is one of the few high-precision spectroscopic surveys of radial velocities for a large sample of bulge stars in such a low and positive latitude environment (b = +1.7{deg}). We found no evidence of the peak at &lt;v_rad_&gt; ~ +200 km/s found in Nidever et al. (2012ApJ...755L..25N). Strong contamination of many observed spectra by TiO bands prevented us from deriving the iron abundance for the entire spectroscopic sample, introducing a selection bias. The metallicity distribution was finally derived for a subsample of 112 stars in a magnitude range where the effect of the selection bias is negligible. The distribution is quite broad and roughly peaked at solar metallicity ([Fe/H] =~ +0.05 dex) with a similar number of stars in the super-solar and in the sub-solar ranges. The population number ratios in different metallicity ranges agree well with those observed in other low-latitude bulge fields, suggesting (1) the possible presence of a plateau for|b| &lt; 4{deg} in the ratio between stars in the super-solar (0 &lt; [Fe/H] &lt;0.5 dex) and sub-solar (-0.5 &lt; [Fe/H] &lt;0 dex) metallicity ranges; (2) a severe drop in the metal-poor component ([Fe/H] &lt;-0.5) as a function of Galactic latitude.</description><source format="bibcode">2014ApJ...791..101M</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/791/101</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/699/66">J/ApJ/699/66 : Abundances in two Galactic bulge stars (Cohen+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/534/A91">J/A+A/534/A91 : Galactic Bulge Valinhos Observatory Catalog (Teixeira+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/580/A121">J/A+A/580/A121 : CaT/[Fe/H] calibration for Galactic bulge stars</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/587/A124">J/A+A/587/A124 : Metal-poor stars towards the Galactic bulge (Koch+, 2016)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/791/101</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/791/101</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/791/101</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/791/101</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/791/101</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/791/101</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/ApJ/791/101/table1 (Identification number, coordinates, atmospheric parameters, iron abundances and their uncertainties for the Terzan 5 field stars in our sample)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/791/101/table1?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/791/101/table1?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/791/101/table1?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>267.1829348</ra><dec>-24.6923402</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/28899 28905</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/ApJ/791/101?format=ascii</footprint></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/ApJ/791/101/table1</name><description>Identification number, coordinates, atmospheric parameters, iron abundances and their uncertainties for the Terzan 5 field stars in our sample</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
