The data were obtained in 1997 and 2007 permitting us to derive membership based on proper motions of the stars. Our data are consistent with an age of 1 Myr for the HD 97950 cluster. A possible age spread, if present in the cluster, appears to be small. The global slope of the incompleteness-corrected mass function for member stars within 60" is {Gamma}=-0.88+/-0.15, which is flatter than the value of a Salpeter slope of -1.35. The radially varying mass function shows pronounced mass segregation ranging from slopes of -0.26 +/-0.32 in the inner 5" to -0.94+/-0.36 in the outermost annulus (40"-60"). Stars more massive than 50M_{sun}_ are found only in the cluster center. The {Lambda} minimum spanning tree technique confirms significant mass segregation down to 30M_{sun}_. The dependence of {Lambda} on mass, i.e., that high-mass stars are more segregated than low-mass stars, and the (weak) dependence of the velocity dispersion on stellar mass might imply that the mass segregation is dynamical in origin. While primordial segregation cannot be excluded, the properties of the mass segregation indicate that dynamical mass segregation may have been the dominant process for segregation of high-mass stars.</description><source format="bibcode">2013ApJ...764...73P</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/764/73</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/B/hst">B/hst : HST Archived Exposures Catalog (STScI, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/548/A97">J/A+A/548/A97 : Catalogue of variable stars in open clusters (Zejda+, 2012)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/675/1319">J/ApJ/675/1319 : Infrared photometry of NGC 3603 (Harayama+, 2008)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/368/253">J/MNRAS/368/253 : Faint emission lines in NGC 3603 (Garcia-Rojas+, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/446/949">J/A+A/446/949 : Open clusters proper motions based on UCAC2 (Dias+, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/127/1014">J/AJ/127/1014 : CCD UBVRIHa photometry in NGC 3603 (Sung+, 2004)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AZh/80/8">J/AZh/80/8 : Proper motions of open star clusters (Loktin+, 2003)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/335/233">J/MNRAS/335/233 : Integrated Spectra of Open Clusters (Piatti+, 2002)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/327/23">J/MNRAS/327/23 : CCD UBVRI photometry of 7 open star clusters (Sagar+, 2001)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/PAZh/25/10">J/PAZh/25/10 : Young open clusters space-age distribution (Dambis, 1999)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/764/73</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/764/73</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/764/73</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/764/73</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/764/73</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/764/73</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/ApJ/764/73/table2 (The VI photometry and relative proper motions of the member stars on the PC chip of WFPC2)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/764/73/table2?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/764/73/table2?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/764/73/table2?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>168.77895694</ra><dec>-61.26100528</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/37924</spatial><spectral>2.0401237512456292e-19 4.2441532724171825e-19</spectral><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/ApJ/764/73?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/ApJ/764/73/wfc</name><description>VI photometry and relative proper motions of the member stars on the WFC2 and WFC4 chips of WFPC2</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
