We measure surface brightness profiles for these galaxies using a method that properly measures low surface brightness flux at large radii. We find that quiescent galaxies at z~2 very closely follow Sersic profiles, with n_median_=3.7, and have no excess flux at large radii. Their effective radii are a factor of ~4 smaller than those of low-redshift quiescent galaxies of similar mass. However, there is a significant spread in sizes ({sigma}_log_10_r_e__=0.24), with the largest z~2 galaxies lying close to the z=0 mass-size relation. We compare the stellar mass surface density profiles with those of massive elliptical galaxies in the Virgo Cluster and confirm that most of the mass growth which occurs between z~2 and z=0 must be due to accretion of material onto the outer regions of the galaxies. Additionally, we investigate the evolution in the size distribution of massive quiescent galaxies. We find that the minimum size growth required for z~2 quiescent galaxies to fall within the z=0 size distribution is a factor of ~2 smaller than the total median size growth between z~2 and z=0.</description><source format="bibcode">2012ApJ...749..121S</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/749/121</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/B/hst">B/hst : HST Archived Exposures Catalog (STScI, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/206/10">J/ApJS/206/10 : CANDELS multiwavelength catalog (Galametz+, 2013)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/427/1666">J/MNRAS/427/1666 : Massive galaxies in CANDELS-UDS field (Bruce+, 2012)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/203/24">J/ApJS/203/24 : Structural parameters of CANDELS galaxies (van der Wel+, 2012)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/742/111">J/ApJ/742/111 : Extreme emission-line galaxies in CANDELS (van der Wel+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/400/1690">J/MNRAS/400/1690 : Ages and metallicities for quiescent galaxies (Smith+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/682/985">J/ApJ/682/985 : FIREWORKS photometry of GOODS CDF-S (Wuyts+, 2008)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/749/121</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/749/121</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/749/121</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/749/121</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/749/121</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/749/121</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/ApJ/749/121/table1 (Galaxy properties)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/749/121/table1?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/749/121/table1?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/749/121/table1?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>53.06982889</ra><dec>-27.88046694</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/35935</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/ApJ/749/121?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband><waveband>Infrared</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/ApJ/749/121/table1</name><description>Galaxy properties</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
