We report the first discovery from this program, a giant planet orbiting 7 CMa (HD 47205) with a period of 763+/-17 days, eccentricity e=0.14+/-0.06, and msin i=2.6+/-0.6M_Jup_. The host star is a K giant with a mass of 1.5+/-0.3M_{sun}_ and metallicity [Fe/H]=0.21+/-0.10. The mass and period of 7 CMa b are typical of planets which have been found to orbit intermediate-mass stars (M_*_&gt;1.3M_{sun}_). Hipparcos photometry shows this star to be stable to 0.0004 mag on the radial-velocity period, giving confidence that this signal can be attributed to reflex motion caused by an orbiting planet.</description><source format="bibcode">2011ApJ...743..184W</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/743/184</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/III/254">III/254 : Radial Velocities with Astrometric Data II (Kharchenko+, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/III/252">III/252 : Pulkovo radial velocities for 35493 HIP stars (Gontcharov, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/III/244">III/244 : Catalog of Stellar Rotational Velocities (Glebocki+ 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/I/239">I/239 : The Hipparcos and Tycho Catalogues (ESA 1997)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/546/A61">J/A+A/546/A61 : Radial velocities for XHIP catalogue (de Bruijne+, 2012)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/135/209">J/AJ/135/209 : HIP giants rotational &amp; radial velocities (Massarotti+, 2008)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/743/184</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/743/184</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/743/184</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/743/184</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/743/184</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/743/184</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/ApJ/743/184/table1 (Pan-Pacific Planet Search target list)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/743/184/table1?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/743/184/table1?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/743/184/table1?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>0.4372083</ra><dec>-16.5317222</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/16455 16657 16763 16889 16956 16964 17084 17164 17296 17297 17723 18593 20774 20886 20909 21221 23057 24658 24780 24820 24921 25092 25279 28780 28908 29009 29246 29296 29319 30100 30307 33027 33033 33221 33398 33404 33797 33879 34283 34479 34753 34847 34897 34902 34909 34929 35288 35323 35335 35361 35740 35776 36287 36292 36366 36704 36962 37032 37119 37345 37428 37802 38270 38445 38893 38990 39061 39957 39986 40103 40298 40312 40321 40718 41064 41246 41385 41403 41951 41975 42022 42197 42596 42604 42661 42937 42941 42956 43026 43107 43176 43178 43275 43774 43840 43889 43929 44047 44158 44277 44346 44422 44649 44693 44859 44868 44883 44924 44959 44962 45164 45229 45231 45378 45612 46047 46301 46308 46468 46865 47020 47233 47632 47685 47694 47835 47960 48109 48134 48326 48442 48536 48615 48616 48966 49130</spatial><spectral>3.322582951404819e-19 3.852589004194616e-19</spectral><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/ApJ/743/184?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/ApJ/743/184/table1</name><description>Pan-Pacific Planet Search target list</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
