From changes in the spectral slope and CO line depths near the center, I find evidence for unresolved dust emission resulting from black hole (BH) accretion. With a luminosity of ~2x10^38^erg/s, this dust emission appears to be the most luminous tracer of current BH accretion, 2 orders of magnitude more luminous than previously detected X-ray emission. These observations suggest that using high-resolution infrared data to search for dust emission may be an effective way to detect other nearby, low-luminosity BHs, such as those in globular clusters. I also examine the fossil evidence of gas accretion contained in the kinematics of the stars in the nucleus. The higher order moments (h3 and h4) of the line-of-sight velocity distribution show patterns that are remarkably similar to those seen on larger scales in elliptical galaxies and in gas-rich merger simulations. The kinematics suggests the presence of two components in the M32 nucleus, a dominant disk overlying a pressure supported component.</description><source format="bibcode">2010ApJ...725..670S</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/725/670</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/539/A138">J/A+A/539/A138 : RR Lyr variable stars in M32 (Fiorentino+, 2012)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/708/817">J/ApJ/708/817 : RR Lyrae variables in M32 and M31 (Fiorentino+, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/183/1">J/ApJS/183/1 : Catalog of central stellar velocity dispersions (Ho+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/707/890">J/ApJ/707/890 : IR properties of E and S0 galaxies (Temi+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/702/955">J/ApJ/702/955 : K-band luminosity function from 2MASX (Devereux+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/382/1552">J/MNRAS/382/1552 : Multiwavelength study of nearby galaxy nuclei (Lira+, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/532/308">J/ApJ/532/308 : Hot Horizontal Branch Stars in the Core of M32 (Brown+ 2000)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/504/113">J/ApJ/504/113 : F175W and F275W photometry of M31 and M32 (Brown+, 1998)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+AS/127/117">J/A+AS/127/117 : Kinematics of galaxies (Prugniel+ 1998)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/112/315">J/ApJS/112/315 : Spectroscopic parameters of Seyfert nuclei (Ho+ 1997)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/104/1349">J/AJ/104/1349 : Infrared-luminous giants in M32 (Freedman, 1992)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/725/670</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/725/670</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/725/670</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/725/670</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/725/670</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/725/670</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/ApJ/725/670/table1 (Gemini/NIFS kinematic data of the M32 nucleus)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/725/670/table1?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/725/670/table1?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/725/670/table1?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>10.67429278</ra><dec>40.86524028</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/2622</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/ApJ/725/670?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/ApJ/725/670/table1</name><description>Gemini/NIFS kinematic data of the M32 nucleus</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
