SDWFS, a Spitzer Cycle 4 Legacy project, occupies a unique position in the area-depth survey space defined by other Spitzer surveys. The four epochs that make up SDWFS permit-for the first time-the selection of infrared-variable and high proper motion objects over a wide field on timescales of years. Because of its large survey volume, SDWFS is sensitive to galaxies out to z~3 with relatively little impact from cosmic variance for all but the richest systems. The SDWFS data sets will thus be especially useful for characterizing galaxy evolution beyond z~1.5. This paper explains the SDWFS observing strategy and data processing, presents the SDWFS mosaics and source catalogs, and discusses some early scientific findings. The publicly released, full-depth catalogs contain 6.78, 5.23, 1.20, and 0.96x10^5^ distinct sources detected to the average 5{sigma}, 4"-diameter, aperture-corrected limits of 19.77, 18.83, 16.50, and 15.82 Vega mag at 3.6, 4.5, 5.8, and 8.0um, respectively. The SDWFS number counts and color-color distribution are consistent with other, earlier Spitzer surveys. At the 6 minute integration time of the SDWFS IRAC imaging, &gt;50% of isolated Faint Images of the Radio Sky at Twenty cm radio sources and &gt;80% of on-axis XBootes sources are detected out to 8.0um. Finally, we present the four highest proper motion IRAC-selected sources identified from the multi-epoch imaging, two of which are likely field brown dwarfs of mid-T spectral class.</description><source format="bibcode">2009ApJ...701..428A</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/701/428</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/716/530">J/ApJ/716/530 : Mid-IR variability from the SDWFS (Kozlowski+, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/701/508">J/ApJ/701/508 : 5000 AGNs behind the Magellanic clouds (Kozlowski+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/684/905">J/ApJ/684/905 : z&gt;1 galaxy clusters from IRAC Shallow Survey (Eisenhardt+,</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/641/140">J/ApJ/641/140 : Optical counterparts in the NDWFS Bootes field (Brand+, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/634/L1">J/ApJ/634/L1 : 16{mu}m sources in the NOAO Bootes field (Kasliwal+, 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/130/923">J/AJ/130/923 : Faint radio sources in the NOAO Bootes field (Wrobel+, 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/161/9">J/ApJS/161/9 : X-ray survey of the NDWFS Bootes field (Kenter+, 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/127/213">J/AJ/127/213 : LALA Bootes field X-ray source catalog (Wang+, 2004)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/123/1784">J/AJ/123/1784 : 1.4 GHz imaging of the Bootes field (de Vries+, 2002)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/701/428</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/701/428</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/701/428</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/701/428</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/701/428</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/701/428</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><coverage><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc"/><waveband>Infrared</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name></schema></tableset></ri:Resource>
