Single-epoch observations of 70 Cepheids were extracted from Spitzer IRAC observations at 3.6, 4.5, 5.8 and 8.0um, serendipitously obtained during the SAGE (Surveying the Agents of a Galaxy's Evolution) imaging survey of the LMC. All four mid-infrared PL relations have nearly identical slopes over the period range 6-88 days, with a small scatter of only +/-0.16mag independent of period for all four of these wavelengths. We emphasize that differential reddening is not contributing significantly to the observed scatter, given the nearly 2 orders of magnitude reduced sensitivity of the mid-IR to extinction compared to the optical. Future observations, filling in the light curves for these Cepheids, should noticeably reduce the residual scatter. These attributes alone suggest that mid-infrared PL relations will provide a practical means of significantly improving the accuracy of Cepheid distances to nearby galaxies.</description><source format="bibcode">2008ApJ...679...71F</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/679/71</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/303/137">J/A+A/303/137 : EROS Variables: Cepheids in the bar of LMC (Beaulieu+ 1995)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/128/2239">J/AJ/128/2239 : JHKs photometry of 92 LMC Cepheids (Persson+, 2004)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/132/2268">J/AJ/132/2268 : SAGE calibration stars (Meixner+, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/462/599">J/A+A/462/599 : JHKs photometry of LMC cluster Cepheids (Testa+, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/476/73">J/A+A/476/73 : Calibration of Cepheid Period/Luminosity relation (Fouque+,</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/679/71</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/679/71</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/679/71</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/679/71</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/679/71</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/679/71</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/ApJ/679/71/table1 (Mid-infrared Cepheid photometry)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/679/71/table1?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/679/71/table1?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/679/71/table1?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>73.7762083</ra><dec>-67.4758333</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>5/8275 8280 6/33051 33052 33053 33054 33073 33075 33076 33077 33078 33088 33091 33092 33094 33095 33098 33106 33107 33108 33110 33112 33113 33124 33126 33127</spatial><spectral>2.0616683193919197e-20 6.185923063528282e-20</spectral><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/ApJ/679/71?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Infrared</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/ApJ/679/71/table1</name><description>Mid-infrared Cepheid photometry</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
