There is good agreement between results obtained with radio galaxies and supernovae, suggesting that both distance indicators are reliable. The deceleration parameter q(z) is obtained assuming only the validity of the FRW metric, allowing for a range of values of space curvature, and independent of a gravity theory and the physical nature of the contents of the universe. We show that q_0_ is independent of space curvature, and obtain q_0_=-0.48+/-0.11. The transition redshift when q_0_=0 is z_T_=0.78^+0.08^_-0.27_ for zero space curvature, and has a weak dependence on space curvature. We find good agreement between model-independent quantities and those predicted by general relativity, indicating that GR provides a good description of the data over look-back times of ten billion years.</description><source format="bibcode">2008ApJ...677....1D</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/677/1</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/612/652">J/ApJ/612/652 : Dimensionless coordinate distances to supernovae (Daly+, 2004)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/677/1</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/677/1</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/677/1</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/677/1</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/677/1</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/677/1</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/ApJ/677/1/table1 (Distances of 192 supernovae, 30 radio galaxies, and 38 galaxy clusters)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/677/1/table1?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/677/1/table1?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/677/1/table1?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>187.8410417</ra><dec>29.1344444</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/34 337 946 2136 2186 2225 2227 2232 2249 2282 2379 2484 2687 4014 5099 5553 5758 6075 6178 6337 6441 6539 6551 6778 7242 7510 7768 7904 8644 8921 9036 9476 9764 9794 9992 10052 10527 10734 10858 10877 11073 11158 11252 11377 11403 11424 11425 11427 11467 11626 11632 11652 11667 11672 11807 12010 12593 12983 13314 13455 14744 15085 16221 16862 16881 17316 17318 17321 17324 17325 17683 17686 17689 17692 17700 17702 17703 17709 17714 17741 17840 18008 18010 18011 18032 18033 18227 18296 18475 18535 19097 19298 19542 19551 19848 20353 22915 23688 24023 24131 24716 25675 25850 26037 26177 26189 26268 26914 27009 27247 27256 27258 27428 27872 27906 28430 28448 28453 28498 28535 28574 30946 31537 32129 32307 32503 32569 33294 33839 34530 34897 35629 35844 35935 36253 36774 36775 36781 36783 36786 36792 36794 38613 38683 43713 43827 43828 43855 44007 45500 45844 46394 46561 48478 48479 48500 48501 49012 49125</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/ApJ/677/1?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband><waveband>Radio</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/ApJ/677/1/table1</name><description>Distances of 192 supernovae, 30 radio galaxies, and 38 galaxy clusters</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
