The sources are compact and isolated members of the Wilson et al. (1970) H109{alpha} radio recombination line (RRL) catalog. The fourth Galactic quadrant is well covered by the sample. Atomic carbon emission is detected toward all of the regions, with multiple C I emission components found toward most sources. The RRL velocity is used to identify the C I emission associated with the H II region. We measure the mean velocity difference between the C I and RRL emission to be 0.8{+/-}2.8 km s^-1^. Within the measurement errors this is exact agreement in velocity; we conclude that all H II regions have associated C I emission. The mean C I line temperature of these components is 2.4{+/-}1.8 K, compared with 0.7{+/-}0.7 K for the C I emission components not associated with the H II region. This suggests that C I intensity is dominated by local heating. The FWHM line width of C I gas associated with H II regions also is marginally greater than that found for unassociated gas (6.7{+/-}3.0, compared with 4.8{+/-}2.4 km s-1).</description><source format="bibcode">1999ApJ...517..282H</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/ApJ/517/282</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/517/282</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/517/282</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/ApJ/517/282</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/517/282</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/517/282</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/ApJ/517/282</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/ApJ/517/282/table1 (C I emission properties of the HII regions)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/517/282/table1?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/517/282/table1?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/ApJ/517/282/table1?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>270.031358</ra><dec>-23.276417</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/28915 37872 37884 37923 37924 38016 38024 41655 41772 41812 41820 41824 42169 42170 42172 42214 42215 42224 42225 42226 42376 42392 42398 42436 42441 42456 42462 42498 43017 43019</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/ApJ/517/282?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Radio</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/ApJ/517/282/table1</name><description>C I emission properties of the HII regions</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
