The method is tested extensively using fields that are not crowded, the Small Magellanic Cloud and M31 (Field 13). The results are compared with previous studies that used UVIT observations. This approach is successful in detecting fainter sources and produces a large number of new sources (~15% -92% more). Most of the newly discovered UV sources fall in the faint end of the source distribution (m&gt;~22). The counterparts at other wavelengths are identified for most sources. This approach is more efficient for source detection and provides an opportunity to explore new classes of UV sources.</description><source format="bibcode">2024AJ....168...22A</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/AJ/168/22</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/I/337">I/337 : Gaia DR1 (Gaia Collaboration, 2016)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/II/335">II/335 : Revised catalog of GALEX UV sources (GUVcat_AIS GR6+7) (Bianchi+ 2017)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/I/345">I/345 : Gaia DR2 (Gaia Collaboration, 2018)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/724/1389">J/ApJ/724/1389 : Mapping the diffuse UV sky with GALEX (Murthy+, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/411/2770">J/MNRAS/411/2770 : Hot white dwarfs in GALEX-DR5 (Bianchi+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/215/9">J/ApJS/215/9 : PHAT X.
