The Survey of the MAgellanic Stellar History (SMASH) is a community Dark Energy Camera (DECam) survey of the Magellanic Clouds using ~50 nights to sample over ~2400deg^2^ centered on the Clouds at ~20% filling factor (but with contiguous coverage in the central regions) and to depths of ~24th mag in ugriz. The primary goals of SMASH are to map out the extended stellar peripheries of the Clouds and uncover their complicated interaction and accretion history as well as to derive spatially resolved star formation histories of the central regions and create a "movie" of their past star formation. Here we announce the second SMASH public data release (DR2), which contains all 197 fully calibrated DECam fields including the main body fields in the central regions. The DR2 data are available through the Astro Data Lab hosted by the NSF's National Optical-Infrared Astronomy Research Laboratory. We highlight three science cases that make use of the SMASH DR2 data and will be published in the future: (1) preliminary star formation histories of the LMC, (2) the search for Magellanic star clusters using citizen scientists, and, (3) photometric metallicities of Magellanic Cloud stars using the DECam u-band.</description><source format="bibcode">2021AJ....161...74N</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/AJ/161/74</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/II/351">II/351 : VISTA Magellanic Survey (VMC) catalog (Cioni+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/II/328">II/328 : AllWISE Data Release (Cutri+ 2013)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/I/337">I/337 : Gaia DR1 (Gaia Collaboration, 2016)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/I/345">I/345 : Gaia DR2 (Gaia Collaboration, 2018)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/VII/233">VII/233 : The 2MASS Extended sources (IPAC/UMass, 2003-2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/V/146">V/146 : LAMOST DR1 catalogs (Luo+, 2015)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/117/2244">J/AJ/117/2244 : HST color-magnitude diagrams of the LMC (Olsen, 1999)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AcA/49/521">J/AcA/49/521 : OGLE LMC star clusters BVI photometry (Pietrzynski+, 1999)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/123/855">J/AJ/123/855 : Magellanic Clouds Photometric Survey: the SMC (Zaritsky+, 2002)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/127/1531">J/AJ/127/1531 : Star formation history of SMC (Harris+, 2004)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/131/414">J/AJ/131/414 : Structural parameters of SMC star clusters (Hill+, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/389/678">J/MNRAS/389/678 : Catalogue of extended objects Magellanic Clouds (Bica+,2008)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/135/836">J/AJ/135/836 : Calcium triplet index in LMC stars (Carrera+, 2008)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/138/1243">J/AJ/138/1243 : The star formation history of the LMC (Harris+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/517/A50">J/A+A/517/A50 : Ages &amp; luminosities young SMC/LMC star clusters (Glatt+, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/142/48">J/AJ/142/48 : LMC star clusters structural parameters (Werchan+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/802/127">J/ApJ/802/127 : PHAT stellar cluster survey.
