As part of a multi-faceted effort to investigate the range of luminosities of M dwarfs of a given color on the Hertzsprung-Russell Diagram, 76 M dwarfs have been observed for 3-17 years in the Johnson-Kron-Cousins V band. We find that stars elevated above the center of the main sequence distribution tend to have higher levels of variability, likely caused by magnetic activity, than their fainter counterparts below the center. This study provides insight into how the long-term magnetic activity of these stars may be affecting their sizes, luminosities, and thus positions on the H-R Diagram.</description><source format="bibcode">2017AJ....154..124C</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/AJ/154/124</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/I/174">I/174 : Yale Trigonometric Parallaxes Preliminary (van Altena+ 1991)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/VII/233">VII/233 : The 2MASS Extended sources (IPAC/UMass, 2003-2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/I/311">I/311 : Hipparcos, the New Reduction (van Leeuwen, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/129/413">J/AJ/129/413 : New high proper motion stars (-90&lt;DE&lt; -47) (Subasavage+, 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/130/1658">J/AJ/130/1658 : New high proper motion stars (-47&lt;{delta}&lt;00)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/132/866">J/AJ/132/866 : New M dwarfs in solar neighborhood (Riaz+, 2006)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/133/2898">J/AJ/133/2898 : New proper-motion stars (-90&lt;DE&lt; -47) (Finch+, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/134/252">J/AJ/134/252 : New nearby white dwarf systems (Subasavage+, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/136/452">J/AJ/136/452 : Astrometric studies of GAT stars (Gatewood, 2008)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/141/21">J/AJ/141/21 : CCD distance estimates of SCR targets (Winters+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/142/10">J/AJ/142/10 : New proper motion stars 0.40"/yr&gt;pm&gt;=0.18"/yr (Boyd+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/142/92">J/AJ/142/92 : New proper motion stars with pm&gt;=0.18"/yr (Boyd+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/144/64">J/AJ/144/64 : Solar neighborhood.
