The success of each model is determined by how well it fits the observations, and this paper aims to disentangle contributions from the various physical inputs. New deep, wide-field optical and near-infrared photometry (UBVRIJHK_S_) of the cluster M35 is presented, against which several isochrone systems are compared: Padova, PARSEC, Dartmouth, and Y^2^. Two different atmosphere models are applied to each isochrone: ATLAS9 and BT-Settl. For any isochrone set and atmosphere model, observed data are accurately reproduced for all stars more massive than 0.7M_{sun}_. For stars less massive than 0.7M_{sun}_, Padova and PARSEC isochrones consistently produce higher temperatures than observed. Dartmouth and Y^2^ isochrones with BT-Settl atmospheres reproduce optical data accurately; however, they appear too blue in IR colors. It is speculated that molecular contributions to stellar spectra in the near-infrared may not be fully explored, and that future study may reconcile these differences.</description><source format="bibcode">2014AJ....148...85T</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/AJ/148/85</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/B/ocl">B/ocl : Optically visible open clusters and Candidates (Dias+ 2002-2014)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/564/A42">J/A+A/564/A42 : {Delta}a-photometry in 10 open clusters (Paunzen+, 2014)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/139/1383">J/AJ/139/1383 : Radial velocities in M35 (NGC 2168) (Geller+, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/695/679">J/ApJ/695/679 : Stellar rotation in M35 (Meibom+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/133/394">J/AJ/133/394 : Low-mass binary companions in M35 (McNamara+, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/546/1006">J/ApJ/546/1006 : VRI photometry of M35 (Barrado y Navascues+, 2001)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/306/361">J/MNRAS/306/361 : UBVI CCD photometry of M35 (NGC 2168) (Sung+ 1999)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/AJ/148/85</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/AJ/148/85</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/AJ/148/85</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/AJ/148/85</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/AJ/148/85</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/AJ/148/85</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/AJ/148/85/table2 (Combined data set photometry of M35)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/AJ/148/85/table2?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/AJ/148/85/table2?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/AJ/148/85/table2?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>92.71061</ra><dec>23.87169</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/24338 24339 24344 24345 24348</spatial><spectral>7.952274030004205e-20 6.118840631666147e-19</spectral><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/AJ/148/85?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband><waveband>Infrared</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/AJ/148/85/table2</name><description>Combined data set photometry of M35</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
