The color selection technique, which identifies candidate binaries containing a white dwarf and a low-mass stellar (or substellar) companion via their distinctive locus in the near-infrared color-color diagram, is demonstrated to be simple to apply and to yield candidates with a high rate of subsequent confirmation. We recover 105 confirmed binaries, and identify 27 firm candidates (19 of which are new to this work) and 21 tentative candidates (17 of which are new to this work) from the 2MASS data.</description><source format="bibcode">2007AJ....134...26H</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/AJ/134/26</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/II/246">II/246 : 2MASS All-Sky Catalog of Point Sources (Cutri+ 2003)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/III/235">III/235 : Spectroscopically Identified White Dwarfs (McCook+, 2008)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/586/1356">J/ApJ/586/1356 : White dwarfs with cool companions (Wachter+, 2003)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/AJ/134/26</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/AJ/134/26</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/AJ/134/26</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/AJ/134/26</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/AJ/134/26</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/AJ/134/26</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/AJ/134/26/table1 (2MASS photometry for white dwarfs with near-IR excess)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/AJ/134/26/table1?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/AJ/134/26/table1?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/AJ/134/26/table1?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>4.2340833</ra><dec>10.0664167</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/2 108 182 255 548 1082 1185 1746 2695 3301 3313 4450 4455 4519 4880 5025 5213 5397 5420 5619 5778 5830 5902 5946 6458 6616 7411 7510 7758 7902 8438 8717 9066 9141 9176 9416 9796 9814 10126 10386 10410 10560 10926 10935 10992 10999 11031 11336 11337 11370 11400 11416 11565 11621 11813 12111 12208 12908 13923 14050 14412 14654 15287 15944 16032 16251 16508 16785 16970 17009 17115 17415 17790 18700 19042 19183 19522 19541 19559 20203 20212 22149 22709 23208 23226 23457 23501 23549 24409 24741 25028 25052 25147 25250 25642 25871 26012 26227 26299 26740 26851 26864 27108 27221 27338 27350 27504 27852 28126 28257 28259 28507 28653 30406 31554 31670 31673 31702 32385 33126 33309 34026 34959 35721 35796 35823 35962 36125 36315 36489 36522 36580 36836 37174 39168 39825 40182 40287 40307 40682 40788 42115 42459 42700 42996 43927 43928 44614 44796 45744 46755 48152 48195</spatial><spectral>8.650015785639275e-20 1.7003137259100215e-19</spectral><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/AJ/134/26?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Infrared</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/AJ/134/26/table1</name><description>2MASS photometry for white dwarfs with near-IR excess</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
