Positions for 96,397 stars (magnitudes 7.5&lt;V&lt;17.3) were determined using differential reductions to the ACT catalog of star positions and proper motions, and accuracies of +/-30mas were achieved for well-exposed images. The ephemeris for 10199 Chariklo was improved by including the new positions presented in this paper and, second, by correcting older positions taken from the literature for systematic errors. During this time period, 10199 Chariklo passes within 2" of 117 of these stars, which are identified as occultation candidates in this paper. Among these, 28 candidates have magnitudes V&lt;15.0, making them the best choices for observing programs using portable telescopes. Circumstances for each occultation are given. Because the angular radius of 10199 Chariklo is only about 15mas, the astrometry provided in this paper is only accurate enough for identifying possible occultation events and is not sufficient for predicting individual shadow paths across the surface of Earth, although representative cases are given. Last-minute astrometry with a large-aperture telescope will be needed to refine each prediction.</description><source format="bibcode">2000AJ....119.2008S</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/AJ/119/2008</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/109/1363">J/AJ/109/1363 : Occultations of stars by asteroids 1995-96 (Wasserman+ 1995)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/AJ/119/2008</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/AJ/119/2008</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/AJ/119/2008</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/AJ/119/2008</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/AJ/119/2008</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/AJ/119/2008</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/AJ/119/2008/table4 (Possible occultations by 10199 Chariklo in 1999.5-2006.0)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/AJ/119/2008/table4?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/AJ/119/2008/table4?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/AJ/119/2008/table4?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>140.57885417</ra><dec>5.55263056</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/4160 24780 24784-24785 24787 24790 24793 24796 24798 24804 24807 24816 24818-24820 24832 24834 24840 24842 24864 25158-25159 25161 25163 25167 25176 25189-25190 25200 25208 25277 25279 25291-25292 25312 25317 25319 25322-25323 25325 26685 26687 26702 26720 26722 26724-26725 26727 26729-26731 26733 26735 26815-26816 26849 26851 26854 26856-26858 26863 27157 27200 27205-27206 27235 27241-27242 27287 27328 27330 27333-27334 27340 27370</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/AJ/119/2008?format=ascii</footprint></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/AJ/119/2008/table4</name><description>Possible occultations by 10199 Chariklo in 1999.5-2006.0</description><column><name>Ev</name><description>Event date</description><ucd>time.epoch</ucd><flag>nullable</flag></column><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
